The Halloween thread

I've seen photos of people over in Northern America going pumpkin picking?? Which is just not a thing here. The whole concept seems so bemusingly quaint to me.

There are ALSO zombie infested cornfield mazes with the pumpkin patch in the middle. It’s important to bring at least one extra person on those pumpkin runs, so that you have a fighting chance of getting your pumpkins back out of the maze in one piece. As your group is armed with paintball guns, but the zombies have giant sponges soaked in red/black/green paint... and you’ll get CLOBBERED (and probably drop your pumpkin and break it, I’m fairly sure they mix the paint with KY or some other kind of sex-lube) if you don’t have at least one person shooting zombies out of your path.

What’s extra-fun about these is that they’re also only held at night, with fog machines & torches.

I haven't carved these squash before, but they just scream "ghosts", so I decided to try them this year.

There's only a handful of houses decorated in town (kinda sad), but the ones that are... are really decorated and look awesome.

Lol, those were the warm up . Now the real carving begins.

I'm not doing any complicated designs this year, because it doesn't really feel like halloween this year. No trick or treaters, so sad

Here's my 3-year-old daughter, who found her teen brother's costume last night and decided to put it on. Verrrrrrry spooky.

I wish I could show you her actual costume, which is the world's cutest bunny costume.

Pumpkin tip: if you use candles to light your pumpkins, sprinkle nutmeg onto the meat of the pumpkin interiors. The heat from the candles will make the nutmeg smell. x20 pumpkins my display last year smelled like pumpkin pie.
