Hi Jaret:)

This week was sooooo hectic! Had several meetings with people about treatment and also met my sister in law for the first time (she married my brother in law on december the 1th, but I couldn't be there at the time). And then there is so much more...

I think I'm fine today, but I hope everything around me stops spinning around so much =)

How about your week, Jaret? And the others?

*Waves to everyone

Hi Vynne. :)

That is good news for you. Congratulations to you. Sounds you finished and met lots of people. This is good and you socialized so much. Perhaps that left you emotionally overwhelmed.

I am ok today. I have been stressful last week. We have exams here in our uni and I am preparing for it. So many things changed last week. Everything at rapid speed. I do feel stress right now.

Still I have exams this week. I think I will be tired after this exams.

*waves back at you, too.* It's nice to hear from you Vynne. Have good days there. :)

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind my reviving this thread! I was really excited to see it as I'm 19 and always feel like a bit of a youngster around here.

I'm from the US, the southern part originally, but I've since relocated to the north. I am also a student, on my second year now of university. I really enjoy it, and even though my PTSD makes it difficult to focus a lot of the time, I am a huge nerd and I love learning. I mainly research and am really interested in studying East Africa. (This made me laugh as between those of you who mentioned living in Ghana and being from South Africa we have almost all regions of the continent covered. Anyone want to pipe up with a connection to central or north Africa? =P) I haven't taken a gap year like any of you have mentioned, but I think I will between my undergrad and grad degrees.

I am not always good about being frequent on this forum, and a lot of times I prefer to watch more than talk myself, but I am looking forward to chatting a bit with you guys.

Hope all is well and that all have made it through the holidays in one piece.

Best,
Petal

Hi Petal,

Welcome to our under 25 club. I was thinking to revive this club, since everyone is contented in their life.

Nice to see you. Nice to have another student. I am also student, but suffering through PTSD issues, I am also facing very hard time with studies.

Best and Happy New year to you, too.
Jaret

Hi all! sorry I haven't been around (as instigator of this little club, I feel partially responsible for keeping it alive!) I have been on holiday in Asia with my family, and had very limited internet.

How has everyone's holiday period been? I know it can be a hard time, but I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as possible!

Since last posting here my partner has officially been diagnosed with PTSD, and is on track to getting the help and treatment he needs! Has been bounced through a whole range of meds, seen loads of people, and had so many ups and downs I am getting a bit dizzy. But it's all on its way to getting better (I hope), and just in time for exams too.

Thats something I have never really understood... Universities send you on holiday, and you come back to exams. why not just get them out of the way BEFORE so we can eat, sleep and be lazy in peace?

Slynn,

Sounds like you have had quite the busy break. Glad your partner is doing well! Are you also suffering from PTSD, or are you here as a supporter? I think it's great that you are willing to support your partner as he works through this. I feel like at this age it is really hard to find people who genuinely are understanding of those suffering from PTSD and make sacrifices to support and be with a sufferer. It is great that you are doing that. I have so much respect for you and hope that I am fortunate enough to find someone so understanding some day. =)

Your exam schedule is such a bummer! My university used to run on that schedule but moved away from it in the years before I began to attend. Thank goodness!

Jaret,

Sorry I am late to respond. Sorry to hear you've been struggling with your studies a bit, too. University can't be easy to begin with, but throw PTSD on top of it and it sure is a doozy! I feel like I am always more or less okay for the first month, but from the first round of exams to the finals I feel like I am just treading water trying to survive. Not a fun feeling!

Hi Slynn,

How was your trip to Asia? I am glad to hear this news. Are you allright?

Hi petal picking poet,

I feel like I am always more or less okay for the first month, but from the first round of exams to the finals I feel like I am just treading water trying to survive. Not a fun feeling!
This is exactly what I am feeling and going through at the moment. One moment I think I am strong enough to make there, but when I am going to make it happen. I feel I am struggling so much. I need to heal myself and resolve all problems.

Any tiny thing looks like bigger to me when I am going to make it happen.
