New Here
I have had PTSD for many years now and I can be fine almost normal for long periods then whammy I am a total dysfunctional wreck.

About 2 years ago I had a very bad melt down that lasted for a few months, I was not doing well at all and could not function in life. Now when I start having a hard time I get worried I might lose it again. I do not want to cross that line because I am afraid I might not come back.

This has been one of those weeks and so I joined this forum for support.

Hi Terrapin. I can sooo relate to what you are saying. That fear of losing *it* again is scary. I joined this forum because I did lose it again and was very scared of myself. It has helped so much to talk to people who understand and are able to give feedback without judging. Understanding your triggers is key in my opinion and I am actually feeling better so I know I must be doing somthing right. I can leave the house again after a long stint of hiding inside as everything was triggering me. I hope you start you feel better and are able to keep functioning. This is such a good forum. take care. j

I am newly diagnosed and only dealing with my trauma for the past 10 months... hard core really only 4 months. I worry sometimes this is on-going and will I ever reign it into my past successfully enough to live my life to the fullest? Most of the time, I say to myself... there is no other choice! I MUST! For my kids and for me! Hard to have it hanging there! I know it never goes away, I just want it more past than present and understanding it seems the way to go!

Glad you are here.
