The Worse My Nightmare, The Better I Feel The Next Day

I don't know if I've ever had a good dream. All my dreams are gloomy, vivid, depressing, and scary. I have to take Ambien to stay asleep and a beta blocker to stop my heart from racing. However, I also notice that nightmares allow my brain to purge. I know that when I have a really bad day, the nightmare will be especially horrible. However, the next day I feel refreshed--like I got it all out. Has anyone ever experienced what I'm talking about?

I have. Sometimes I wake up and think that I am like so happy that s*** was just a dream and I am with my nice family and have my great job. Is like a relief to wake up :)

I usually feel better after nightmares, like my brain finally processed the stress. I like to sleep a lot because I find dreaming to be extremely therapeutic.
