This Is What's Wrong With The U.s.

It's crazy isn't it. There's an attitude in this country that's been festering for quite a while. A lot of people want something for nothing.I'd use the money to start a vets compound. Some place we could all go and get off the grid for awhile and not have to deal with stupid people. Club Vet..lol

I think that a lot of things that are screwed up with this country is due to a lack of discipline. People don't discipline their kids anymore. Kids now days don't have to face the consequences for their actions. Hell, teachers aren't even allowed to use corporal punishment anymore. The discipline i received at home was carried over to school. If you screwed up in school in my day you got your ass busted just like you did at home. Kids don't have to face the consequences anymore. And those undisciplined turds are our future. Club Vet...No undisciplined little snot nosed shits allowed...lol

For the most part, you don't need to tar a kid's ass to teach him a lesson. It takes consistency and not backing down. So many parents cave in just to make the tantrum stop.

Right, I agree, teaching is the key here. I guess we as parents have the responsiblity to our kids to not give in, stick to our guns and go on. It's hard to do though.

There is also no personal accountability for ones actions. Oh! please, please help me I'm too f*cking stupid to know that smoking/ fill in blank, is bad for me. Anyone that smokes does it by their own choice. If you're stupid enough to do it, then too bad if you get cancer or emphysema.

What's wrong with this country??? I wouldn't even know where to begin. Pol Pot was right on a couple of things; kill all the lawyers and politicians. That would be a good start.

Atilla, the compound should be surrounded by agriculture. And a fitting name like, "The funny farm." ;)

I get in some pretty serious yelling matches with my younger sisters. It's insane how they treat my mom.
Wanna show the older one a f*cked up country for a couple weeks,so she can get off her conceited reality television
delusion of how picture perfect life is supposed to be.

I'm the only male. Last one to carry the last name on. But I don't think I will.
As for the state of the U.S right now...
I agree with what's been said.

The age of information is at our finger tips.
It's up to us to learn. Educate. Tell it for what it is.

All these f*cking kids shooting each other in the streets. They learn that shit from the Mainstream rap artist's.
Grow up, sell drugs, get a Lamborghini, step 2 : Pop champagne, 3: Get some big booty girls to twerk like hoes.
The shit that is fed visually to kids these days is nuts.

People like to always say well, it's choice. You make your choices. Sure everybody has a choice. But there is also influence.

I do have to agree with everyone's statements. However, you need to look at the reasoning of the lawsuit itself. I don't think the was strictly based on tort. The plaintiffs goal was to cripple the tobacco industry. And yes, today we know smoking is bad. There is no dispute. But rewind 40 years ago. I can remember the nightly news anchor smoking while giving the news.

But look at how the tobacco industry marketed the products. Google 1950 cigarette ads. Back then big tobacco had doctors endorsing cigarettes.

I hate to see a lawsuit like this gain traction. But I also think big tobacco had it coming for many years now too. So now I guess we wait and see who gets sued next. Mcdonalds probably for making people fat. Big tobacco much like big pharma are scumbags same as big oil. They knew who to influence.

Sugar is more addictive than heroine. No joke.
Cigarettes have additives that make a person crave badly when stopping.
It's good to see in hindsight we should not have started using product x, y or z.

Reality is, we didn't know back then and will have to inform ourselves.
Then understand it's up to you to continue or not.

It's like sueing a baker for making such delicious bread you've eaten a loaf a day.

I'm gonna' run this off in another vein. E-Cigarettes. I have tried just about every damn quit smoking deal there is, went down and laid out about 50 bucks for everything, I'm six weeks out, no cigarettes. I Know! I'm still hooked on nicotene, but It's vaporized and not smoked. And, I'm eliminating all the other crap in cigarettes.

Money-wise, it's a gold mine. I was spending $600 a month on cigarettes. I spend about $20 a week on the "bug juice". It has vegetable oil and eythelene glycol as well, neither of which is bad for you. My PCP says I've cut my nicotene intake by half.

Sorry to sound like a TV commercial, but the damn things worked for me, I feel better and my lungs should clear up in another month.

McD already has been sued for the reason someone got fat on their food, I'm pretty sure more than once, but it didn't last long in the headlines, and it was backpage stuff. No one took it seriously.

Summary: There are nutjobs out there that will sue anybody for anything, and lawyers despicable enough to represent them before the courts. These frivolous lawsuits clog up the legal system hampering real justice (It was hard to keep a straight face on the last part of that sentence).

I know I'm nuts, I mean have PTSD, sorry about that. So, should I sue someone? Maybe I shouldn't go there in this thread.

Anyhoo, there's always a buck to be made and the corps don't care who dies as long as they have a good bottom line.

I was watching the news this morning as saw this older couple. He's 88 a WW2 vet. Their home was destroyed by Sandy. He put up a sign on his property about the fact that things still aren't fixed and are f*cked up. Well, the neighbors, and townsfolk don't like that. FEMA is just another bloated gov't agency that doesn't do squat. And where are all the vet 'service' orgs? No one is helping this guy and he doesn't want to die and leave his wife with this problem. He's what America was, the rest are what it's become. This ain't the country I grew up in...................anymore.
