I have "a nervous stomach". That's what my family has always called it. Its a stress/anxiety reaction.
About a month ago it got progressively worse. It started becoming an every day occurrence. I asked my pharmacist if there was anything I could take without a Prescription that really works. I tried ginger, warm flat ginger ale, cola syrup and something from the health food store ( I don't remember what it was called ), antacids as well a numerous other suggestions. He sold me something called Emetrol. Name brand costs about $9, generic $5. It is a thick, cherry flavored syrup. Depending on the severity of the nausea it can be a little difficult to swallow because of the thick syrup consistency. It reminds me if castor oil but doesn't taste bad.
I found that it works best if taken before the nausea gets too bad. I took some too late and the thickness actually made me vomit. It only comes in a 4oz bottle which will only last me 3 days. My pharmacy now keeps it in stock for me.
Just giving you another option to try. It does work for me although sometimes I need 2 doses before it does.
No matter which suggestion you try I hope find relief.
