As I realize how severe my CSA was and how neglect contributed, and how remarkable my ability to completely block my memories I am thinking more about the red flags in others. I am generally more ticklish/ reactive and will strike out (my poor 6 yr old daughter nearly got popped the other day) if someone touches my waist or sides.

My question though is another thing I see in someone close to me with childhood neglect, and I wonder about abuse in one or more forms. This person is not ticklish. Any sufferers who believe they are like this from trauma? If so, how?

This is a hard one. I'm not ticklish anywhere really. I jerk away when someone touches my neck but it's more of a "DO NOT TOUCH ME THERE" reaction than a "ha ha I can't stop laughing one" I jerk and pull away. It's the same with my knees. I associate someone touching my knees with pulling them apart, so I jerk away.

I'm not ticklish as in giggly though, I used to be as a child though. Feet and armpits were the worst.

I think ticklishness (or not) is not really a sign or symptom. I've never heard of it before.

Thanks. Said individual has many sensory quirks, so that just may be different wiring for the whole organism. Our kids tend to be really sensory seeking/ accident prone, but all are ticklish. Toddler is the only one we tickle now though.
