I've learned the hard way that T's can't read your mind. Also, that my mind could and still can catastrophize and spin with the best of them. I'm also learning that spinning into emotion-driven thinking is often worse than the real outcome anyway, so you might want to consider how much energy is being sucked into this negative vortex and what it is doing to you. Stress creates and maintains its own destructive cycle inside of your mind, body, and spirit.
Regarding the T, it might be helpful if you write out your concerns and needs on paper, and then take them into your next session for discussion. If your therapist can't meet your needs, then ask for a referral or move forward on your own to secure a new therapist. If you stay with this therapist, have the two of you made a plan regarding who will provide interim care while she is on leave that works with the level of care you need? Something to consider if you plan on staying with this therapist.
At the end of the day, it is important that you do what is best for you and get the level of care you need so that you can continue down the path to healing. Trust the small voice inside of yourself - your gut/intuition. Take care. VB
