Supporter Transwoman With Ptsd Suffering Partner

Hey all,

I'm a transwoman living in Melbourne with my partner and her daughter. My partner was recently diagnosed with PTSD and, while I knew about her traumatic past, I didn't understand how deep that trauma ran until now. A mutual friend of ours (also a PTSD sufferer) recommended this website for both of us.

In addition to wanting to be there for my partner, I have abuse in my past as well and am struggling in the wake of coming out as transgendered. It has been suggested to me that I myself could have undiagnosed PTSD and this is something that I am going to discuss with a counselor in the near future. My hope is that through this site I can get some adice and perspective on how best to support my partner and to begin to work through my own past.
