Triggered by... my clothes

Hi @Karen12 , don't believe I've met you yet, welcome here... :)

Actually the thread is from February, I was in a real bad place back then, things have changed for the better and I'm hoping I can keep the same level of control throughout the winter. So instead of engaging in a "flight" reaction by trying to look for ways to "undo" the trigger, I'm now looking to either confront the trigger or ignore the trigger.

For example if I get triggered now by wearing a bra I either just ignore the impulse to spiral into anxiety, or I do something about that, like a breathing exercise and a focus change.

Its weird to find out how many people are actually walking around with these symptoms yet no memories. I'm not familiar with the dual consciousness thing, can you clarify?

Yeah I still fly though we have only one day left... the gliders are bound to be deconstructed for their winter inspections (sob )

These are 2 different companies ... Similar product

In Australia they're called Skins Link Removed
In the States they're called UnderArmor Dead Link Removed & Dead Link Removed

I don't know if the EU has a third brand, or both of the above... But compression gear rocks.

UnderArmor has 2 fits of compression style gear, compression & fitted. Fitted doesn't squeeze as much / is less for keeping muscles optimal for sports, and more for everyday wear. Which I do. HeatGear in summer, and ColdGear in winter. Compression for sports fitted for out and about. (Also helps me regulate my temp, I'm always c-c-cold in winter). I have sensory processing issues, on top of PTSD, and the base layer nixes most of those (constant awareness of what is touching me can get very very vexing when my PTSD is flaring up. Yep. Friction thing. These nix that, because they're slippery / anti-friction and don't bag or have stress point.). The names really are kind of oerfect, because it's like wearing armor & a second skin. I consider them my 'long underwear'. I don't wear knickers under.

Just as a work-around thought.
