thanks old door i worked with a couple of Nam vets in afghan and i still remember the fall of Saigon from when i was a kid.

i have been prescribed citalopram from my doctor.
nothing to help with not sleeping properly even tho i told him.

Hey mate, Jimmy here, I am an Aussie did 20 + with our army.

There are three things I recommend for sleep.

1. If your still having nightmares, then therapy is the real answer, you have to desensitize yourself to the event your dreaming about.
2. Valdoxan or Thymanax. It may be different where you are, but it's an antidepressant which works on your melatonin receptors and helps stabilise your sleep cycle. I take it an hour or so before bed and it makes me slightly drowsy, then I take the kicker.
3. Avanza, Remeron, Mirtazipine (Solutab). This little tricyclic antidepressant works a treat. It has to be the soluble one, and only a small dose, i don't know why and either do the doctors, but a 15 mg tablet works better than a 30 mg tablet. Well I put a 15 mg under my tongue and it dissolves in your mouth. The other half reckons I talk all garbled and struggle to stay awake.

That is my concoction. A point to note though, if something is really bothering me I stay awake all night regardless of meds.

Welcome again brother.

Man...you sure have pulled your weight in combat...welcome home!!!
Thank you all i was doing was what i was trained for hated sitting back in blighty when there was a real job to be done and given half the chance i would do it all again but without the side affects.

These meds I'm on f*ck every thing seems to be in slow mo / light headed and pounding headache
