Isn't it odd that there has apparently been a huge turnout, but we haven't mentioned it here? I voted: it motivated me to get dressed today

Yes it has been huge here in or out we are getting the first results . I think it will depend where you are in the country as to whether stay in or out, How it affects you all . I voted too did you ?.

The first thing I did today was to go to the polling station to vote, there was only one woman canvassing outside, and she was a "stay in" supporter.

There was nobody there to represent the "leave" campaign?

it has been so difficult to make a decision there has been so much debating and a little amount of facts

It seems the pound is falling on the foreign exchanges. Looks like it could be very close.

It has been a nasty, negative campaign all along - I wish politicians cast more light than heat

yes not good about the pound such a immediate reaction . It is definitely a close result

So it's all change. Not the outcome I expected or hoped for. I live in East Anglia, where there was a very strong Out vote because of resentment of Eastern European workers. I'm concerned it may lead to an increase in hate crimes.

Let's hope everyone is happy to pay more in supermarkets, and find someone else to staff all the carers posts. When I was in the NHS, the best worker in my team was Lithuanian.

This is such a huge mistake for the UK to leave the EU. People have voted to leave due to scare mongering over immigration but have forgotten about the economy. We are going to suffer deeply with increased prices and how we are going to staff the NHS I have no idea. The ward in the hospital i'm working in is running on half staff as it is and most of those are from EU.

Unfortunately, despite a majority remain vote from Scotland and Northern Ireland we are out. Very sad and worrying.

I am pleased with the result. It is what I voted for. For me it was not about fear, but about the opportunity for change and taking charge of our own decisions. I am excited by the possibilities.

I think we will still have immigrant workers - but we will be able to choose who we want, and be able to send criminals away.
