You know, after years of reading and being on the forum and "everything" I really think that PTSD is still just not well understood, at least, I don't think you can "think" your way through this disorder.

Knowing more is not helping me. I seem to need rest, more rest than is available. I am tired all the time, and being tired makes everything else break free to hit the fan.

I absolutely agree you can't think your way through PTSD. It affects us at every level and needs treatment at every level: mind, body, spirit (and whatever else I've missed).

I wish I could wave a magic wand and let everyone here get all the rest they need. Deep rest, deep healing. My best wishes to you.

I notice lack of sleep is really really bad for ptsd also. Ptsd isn't well understood at all IMO. People just have a hard time acknowledging what they can't see. If I walked around with a broken leg or a big bandage on my head I'd be treated different; much more compassion and care and accommodations but cuz they can't see it I'm fine, resilient, highly functionable. Who cares if it's 80x harder to even exist. It's what they want and not necessarily what is the truth. Just get over it. Just get past it. Don't dig up the trash buried in the back yard. Wish that was as easily done as said. Why does it have to come back and knock ya for a loop; would be soo over it already. Anyways, you are not alone; people care, maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel of trying so hard! Hugs to you if you accept

Totally agree with you about not thinking our way through. I've become a huge believer we have to feel our way through. Basically we're rewiring our nervous systems and that's all body-centric and not intellectual. I also think a qualified person to guide us through helps tremendously. Waking the Tiger is a great book that explains the feeling approach.

Thank you, I'm the OP and I will check out the Waking the Tiger read. I totally accept the hugs, and need them. You all are so kind and wonderful.

"Keep Calm and Carry On" during the Blitz of living with PTSD or any other chronic condition is the order of the day. I try to find something positive in every day, to keep my chin up.

You guys make it EASY just being who you are with your encouragement and growth mindset.

I wish I could clone you and then everything would be alright.

Cheers!
