And think of the mischief they could get into if they didn't have gainful employment.......
Absolutely!
The Dilbert principle refers to a 1990s theory by Dilbert Scott Adams stating that companies tend to systematically promote their least competent employees to management (generally middle management), in order to limit the amount of damage they are capable of doing.

Friday beat me to Hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy one that the role of the Galactic president, wasn't to wield power, it was to distract attention away from those who actually did wield the power.

I believe that when the GOP has gotten their agenda done(tax reform, health care and the budget). That they are going to impeach Trump so fast that our heads will spin.
I very much agree that for many Republicans in power, Trump is their puppet. Or so they hope.

But I don't believe they will reach the end of their agenda. There is so much infighting, they will never get it done to begin with. Additionally, part of their agenda is to beat the democrats at every election. For some, they will change positions if that's what it takes to beat the Democrats. (And some Democrats are just as vindictive against the Republicans. It goes both ways.)

If the past 5 congressional special elections had gone to the Dems, then I think we would have seen more calls for impeachment by the GOP. Right now, they are fundraising for Trump to run in 2020, and hoping to ride on his tailcoat to win in 2018.

Once Trump and the GOP start losing elections, the GOP will back away from Trump. I believe they will only impeach him when they have more to do, and Trump is too much in the way to get it done because they are losing so many elections.

Trump supporters didn't realize that NPR was tweeting the Declaration of Independence on Independence Day and flipped out calling it trash.

It is so telling that they thought the tweets were as were referring to President Trump when it was actually about King George.

NPR Tweeted The Declaration Of Independence, And Trump Supporters Flipped Out

This is a sign of how vengeful and ill-informed our parties have become. These folks thought the Declaration of Independence was trash just because somebody else on the left was tweeting it.

On the other hand, at least they are following NPR and being exposed to different viewpoint.

They had a collection of people read it on the air too. It was well done and thought provoking. I never dreamed it would provoke THAT kind of response. People really didn't recognize it? Doesn't reflect well on our educational system, does it?

I think many follow NPR in order to troll.

I think Twitter in general is a breeding ground for trolls. Just the format alone lends itself to this. It's another social media site I've pretty much abandoned due to the negativity (and adding nothing positive to my life).

It's quite sad that our Declaration of Independence went unrecognized by many and was seen as offensive by Trump supporters. I think this in and of itself says more about this unfortunate movement than anything else thus far.

But when you think about it, people were reacting to what was said-----the words were EXACTLY the same both before they knew what it was, and after. It was blasphemy before and perfectly ok after? Good God, it's just sad that people have no clue what our country was founded upon!
