Doctors and Hospitals are the worst things, they make me unstable. The last month or more since the VA decided to do a re-eval, my symptoms have been increased greatly. Now, I have no one to help me through this and I can't even think about the VA without rage flowing over me.

I had some treatment over active duty outside the VA and military as I could keep a separate line between them. I didn't get better over time and was deemed unstable. I was told to quit my therapy and find something else.

I quit my therapy and was told, many vets just stop at this stage and that's normal. I didn't find another resource as the military didn't provide one or the VA. I'm so done it isn't funny. I can't deal with this anymore. Why does the VA make you go alone and then just give you the shaft when you're zoned out in the interview with nothing to say for yourself because just by being there you're unstable and then they draw all the conclusions based on being dis-associative.

Don't give up brother. Your system is different than ours but you can't let the bureaucracy get you down. Keep looking for help where you can get it. The one thing I know for sure is that you can't do it on your own.

You know how to fight. Keep fighting. This time though you are fighting for you.

VetCenters.
Here.
Sister Site.
Private Therapy.
Private Orgs. (Think equine therapy, music therapy, etc.)
Veterans Groups +/- PTSD (Think motorcycles to rock climbing)
Winging it as always.

You'd have to shoot me outside the ER to get me through the doors of the VA. They ain't got a corner on the market. Other options exist. A few examples listed above.

I'm not a combat vet.
Vetcenters only help combat vets or active duty.
Virtual friends don't really help...
Private therapy, last girl looked like I was crazier than a pet coon.
No private orgs here.
I'm not aware of vet groups. Most group setting cause me to get unstable.
Perhaps time to move above artic circle.

Call your local American Legion. They have a staff of volunteers who can work as your VS avocate and help you through the process. Wonderful people who actually care

I live in a small community. Everyone knows everyone's business. No one knows about me and PTSD. I'm just a retired guy living in small farm who goes fishing.

I had the same problem so I got an advocate from another city about 200 miles away and we did it all by phone and e-mail.

I had an issue with Insurance wanting to run my treatment even misdiagnosis and tried to enforce meds as a condition of maximum improvement for the chance of any settlement =I had to insert an intermediary =mine was a lawyer and he was crap but free and he gave me the space to swim and get adjusted before he gave up on me and threw me back to the lions - I am better positioned now not because of the lawyer just because of the break and not taking any shit - I am also a year up on research on my condition and better ready to move forward on this very crappy process. So to me a health advocate sounds like a top idea - even if it just ends up giving you the space to get on top of what it is works for you and what doesn't and what are your rights and options.
