Does anyone get such extreme anxiety, especially during therapy sessions and start vomiting and/or having panic attacks?

This is 6 months into CBT therapy with a great therapist!

I feel maybe I will never get over these symptoms and it is very embarrassing!

Thanks for the responses.

It happens to me at most of my weekly sessions. I cant help but retch and vomit into my T's bin. Its so embarrassing and makes me feel so ashamed, like a child!!!! Sometimes I get myself so anxious that its going to happen that the panic atack kicks in before I even walk into her room and within 10 minutes she has to pass the bin. I do feel better after it but the panic and nausea are still there.

Do you see a T? is there anything you do or your T tells you might help?

Yep.

I general spend a couple days sick ahead of time and a few days sick afterwards.

I'll do it, here, too. Any time I start to get too close to things that matter to me. Either I want to shred something, or I get sick, or occasionally both.

Burning off all the chemical stew in my blood helps. IE exercise to put the fight/flight chems to bed. Failing that, trumping them with bigger/stronger STFU chemicals that tell my adrenaline response to sit/stay.

You might try jogging around the building in advance of your therapy, or doing push-ups of the bathroom counter sink if running is out. Ditto, taking a break midsession, or if your normal is 10 minutes in? Doing a meet & greet for 5 minutes, brief run around the building, and come back.
