War With Diabetes

I threw away some. I am more of a sweet person then H. But I did get rid of snacks expect for pretzels. He is a big snack person. He will sit down while watching TV and eat more then half a bag of chips. We both have to watch what we eat...we both need to loose weight and we are in this together.

I tend to eat lo-carb and no sugar anyhow so it's easy. Lots of great options. Quinoa is a great grain and not too high in carbs compared to others and if you like to bake, there are more diabetic friendly flour blends. Ah, coconut flour is great!!!!

Sounds like this is going to make you two even closer!!!!

I got lots of friends to eat healthy so this excites me!!!! Btw, kind of off topic but I do believe that eating healthier helps dealing with PTSD. Note: i didn't say cure. Just that it's easier to deal with things when you are physically healthier. Bad food is bad all together. :)

Yo go girl!!!!! :)))))

I am starting to feel a bit envious with the ease H can talk about diabetes.

H told his father and a two close friends. H and his father talk about their numbers and how they are feeling. I wish my In-laws could know that I too have a life changing illness that has landed me in the hospital twice. I feel jealous that if for some reason H wanted to he could tell a store full of people "I have diabetes!" and no one would think any less of him or feel disgust (like someone did with me once).

I will move past this feeling I know. But right now it is bothersome.

If your hubby has a sweet tooth, there's some really good low-carb candies out there too.

Not too many low sugar ones. My mother in law learned the hard way! I gave her some flavored Jelly beans and chocolates that were so tasty to her she ate a lot. Unfortunately they caused her to be in the bathroom just as much! :wideeyed:

Had the same happen to friends who eat them. Not exactly a fun time.
