Well, That Was Interesting...

True, but I'm at the point where I've found myself avoiding all of my roommates all day, not just Gabriel.
I know that even if I don't see him today, I will encounter him tomorrow morning, because we get ready & leave for classes at the same time on Mondays.

It might be best to avoid everyone for the day. What happened kind of threw you for a loop. I think it is normal and understandable to give yourself a day without interacting with them.

Indeed it was, no sleepwalking from anyone. I haven't spoken with Gabriel about it yet, though. I only saw him as I was heading out the door, but judging by the typical friendly good morning / hellos exchanged, he has no idea anything is amiss. I'm not surprised, and I'm actually relieved. Not only does that confirm that he was, in fact, sleepwalking, it also means that non of my other roommates have mentioned it to him yet. I don't have to be gone early tomorrow, therefore no rushing will take place, so maybe I'll go set myself up with breakfast at the table when I hear him wandering around and take it from there...

Keeping your door locked should just become standard practice in those living situations.

I've been there, it was long ago but I once forgot to lock my door, while I was engrossed in memorizing for an exam, my male roommate had opened the door, poked his head in and just stood there watching me. He thought it was hilarious when I looked up and screamed....idiot.

I know my cousin used to increase her sleepwalking when she was under stress....sometimes she'd come shake you out of bed trying to pick a fight because she had no clue she was dreaming.

I'd say err on the side of caution - door locked. Also try bringing it up with him, maybe he's on meds or something that you don't know about...? It can't really hurt to get it out there.

Good luck and stay safe.

I finally got a chance to talk to Gabriel about it earlier today. He seemed embarrassed and amused in equal parts to have been sleepwalking at all and says it has only happened once before to his knowledge. I still think he does it more often, just not to that extent. Either way, he knows that he's doing it again now, and I've learned to always make sure my bedroom door is locked.

I am so glad you two got a chance to talk it out. It sounds like other than this one issue, you all got along great. I hope it can be that way again.

Thanks, I hope so too! :) I don't think there will be any more problems.

I'm really glad none of my other roommates mentioned this to Gabriel before I got a chance. I wouldn't want to make him feel more awkward about it than necessary.
