Oh Bloom thank you so much for this one. We used to have horses. Our apaloosa mare Indian Summer, was bred twice and we had 2 foals. It was the best time in our marriage. We were animal poor, all of our money went to our many animals on our little farm. When Summer foaled the first time she was so tender she would'nt nurse her foal Frosty. I had to milk her in a big 7-up bottle with a big nipple. that was quite an adventure for me.
I taught her to knicker for her food so when people came over I would say to her, say please and she would knicker in response. We raised her from a foal, our little kids could crawl around her and not get hurt. I loved the companionship of the horses. We were a family. Many a holiday was ruined by one of them having colic. It was the greatest time in our marriage. I loved having the horses. They were so gentle and loving. I learned so much about myself.
Thanks Bloom for reminding me of these memories. I will always treasure them . It is a pleasure to remember them, a nice change of pace. I am so glad I found this one. You are the best. Hugs.
