Another year of fighting the crowds, trying to avoid the crowds, and just hoping to make it through without losing my mind or temper. So far, so good in both depts.....Well the mind, Not so much!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!

Well, I can't do anything about the past, but I can do something about the here and now. I guess I'm thankful for that!

I am thankful for my husband's parents who love me more than my own mother, who have shown me what it means to be loved by a parent unconditionally.

I am thankful for my husband who had made a commitment to love me thru sickness and in health. God blessed us, because I have put him thru hell big time. We've been married 16 years. We have our rocky times, but he is so supportive and gentle.

I'm so glad you have that in your relationship, 2Not. I'm sure your husband does not consider it "hell", just an opportunity to help.

I'm grateful I found this forum. So true.

* The Sun, for without it there would not be life on Earth. * The Moon, for the same reason as previously stated. * The Beach. * Music. * Friends. * Family. * God. * Chocolate. * Oxfam. * Fair Trade. * My Scholarship. * Current living arrangements. * Access to the world through the net. * Limbs that function well at the moment. * Broad understuanding about mental illness and mental health. * The Periodic Table of the Elements. * The book I'm reading at the moment (still...): 'The Brain That Changes Itself'. * Textbooks (for without them I'd be screwed). * Sudoku Puzzles. * My mobile phone (as it actually works). * Wickipedia. * Freerice.com. * Centrelink (even if they are pains sometimes). * Proximity to the Hospital and University. * Air. *Good vision, excellent hearing (though I regret this sometimes, it is usually helpful), senses of taste and smell, and the fact that my voice still works (even if it always hurts to speak). * People who understand that I don't like speaking, but do so out of obligation, and that if I don't speak, it is just too painful, and they don't judge me on this or ask questions. * Doctors. * Nurses. *Ambuland Officers. * Police (when active). * Fire fighters. * SES Volunteers. * All Volunteers. * People who don't judge full-time/part-time Volunteers (not working in other paid capacity). * Other people who appreciate Volunteers. * The Gardacil Vaccine. * People/Scientists who develop vaccines and innoculations, and those whom make, distribute, or administer them. * Penicillin (though this is pretty useless to me directly, the discovery lead to other medicines which may be useful - besides it is useful to others who need it). * Public Servicemen & women. * Telephone Councellors (have had some bad experiences, bu have had some good ones also, and they are giving their time regardless). * The concept of honesty. * Love itself. * People who go the extra distance to show respect for others, regardless of race, age, sex, "status", etc. * People whom understand that we are all equal 'under the sun' and live in that knowledge and in that light. * Teaspoons. * The fact that my parents taught me how to cook from a very young age (even though I was driven like a slave in every domestic capacity, I am glad to have those skills now). * My Artistic abilities (I used to feel that all that time I spent alone in my room drawing, because I wasn't allowed to have friends over or go out much was a wasted childhood, time lost, time stolen from me... ... but I have skills for my age that not many others have. Though it hurts that I didn't get to have normal experiences as a child, I'm fortunate to have these skills now... and maybe I can put them to good use to help others... I've been wanting to put an exhibition together for years... though my chosen career path is in the Sciences, I can make time for Art and Music). * The knowledge that, even though I didn't develop very good social awareness, I can still learn. Just because I am an adult, it does not mean my brain is static. * Jane Austen Novels. * Shakespear. * Edgar Alan Poe. * Elizabeth Barrat-Browning. * Les Murray. * The New Year (because I feel fresh) * My knack for labs (I'm good at most hands-on things, so no problems in the lab...) * Broad Passions (well, it may be annoying to others that I have so many interests, but - who cares? They're my interests, and I'm glad that I have them, or I'd be six foot under). * My guitar. * Having access to a Piano. * Bricks, mortar and roof-tops. :)
