* The Sun, for without it there would not be life on Earth. * The Moon, for the same reason as previously stated. * The Beach. * Music. * Friends. * Family. * God. * Chocolate. * Oxfam. * Fair Trade. * My Scholarship. * Current living arrangements. * Access to the world through the net. * Limbs that function well at the moment. * Broad understuanding about mental illness and mental health. * The Periodic Table of the Elements. * The book I'm reading at the moment (still...): 'The Brain That Changes Itself'. * Textbooks (for without them I'd be screwed). * Sudoku Puzzles. * My mobile phone (as it actually works). * Wickipedia. * Freerice.com. * Centrelink (even if they are pains sometimes). * Proximity to the Hospital and University. * Air. *Good vision, excellent hearing (though I regret this sometimes, it is usually helpful), senses of taste and smell, and the fact that my voice still works (even if it always hurts to speak). * People who understand that I don't like speaking, but do so out of obligation, and that if I don't speak, it is just too painful, and they don't judge me on this or ask questions. * Doctors. * Nurses. *Ambuland Officers. * Police (when active). * Fire fighters. * SES Volunteers. * All Volunteers. * People who don't judge full-time/part-time Volunteers (not working in other paid capacity). * Other people who appreciate Volunteers. * The Gardacil Vaccine. * People/Scientists who develop vaccines and innoculations, and those whom make, distribute, or administer them. * Penicillin (though this is pretty useless to me directly, the discovery lead to other medicines which may be useful - besides it is useful to others who need it). * Public Servicemen & women. * Telephone Councellors (have had some bad experiences, bu have had some good ones also, and they are giving their time regardless). * The concept of honesty. * Love itself. * People who go the extra distance to show respect for others, regardless of race, age, sex, "status", etc. * People whom understand that we are all equal 'under the sun' and live in that knowledge and in that light. * Teaspoons. * The fact that my parents taught me how to cook from a very young age (even though I was driven like a slave in every domestic capacity, I am glad to have those skills now). * My Artistic abilities (I used to feel that all that time I spent alone in my room drawing, because I wasn't allowed to have friends over or go out much was a wasted childhood, time lost, time stolen from me... ... but I have skills for my age that not many others have. Though it hurts that I didn't get to have normal experiences as a child, I'm fortunate to have these skills now... and maybe I can put them to good use to help others... I've been wanting to put an exhibition together for years... though my chosen career path is in the Sciences, I can make time for Art and Music). * The knowledge that, even though I didn't develop very good social awareness, I can still learn. Just because I am an adult, it does not mean my brain is static. * Jane Austen Novels. * Shakespear. * Edgar Alan Poe. * Elizabeth Barrat-Browning. * Les Murray. * The New Year (because I feel fresh) * My knack for labs (I'm good at most hands-on things, so no problems in the lab...) * Broad Passions (well, it may be annoying to others that I have so many interests, but - who cares? They're my interests, and I'm glad that I have them, or I'd be six foot under). * My guitar. * Having access to a Piano. * Bricks, mortar and roof-tops. :)
