What are your pet peeves ?

Repetitive noises that last too long:
  • Smacking noises while eating.
  • 95% of bird calls.
  • Someone repeatedly making a "funny" noise. (For example, a fake laugh. It's fine for a few seconds. But after 30 seconds or so of "Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh." I want to throw something at them.)
  • That smooching kissy kissy noise honeymoon phase couples make while pecking at each other. (Again, it's fine for a few seconds. But after 30 or so, I want to gaffer tape their mouths shut.)
  • (This one's hard to explain) Someone knocking on a door, with a quiet, rapid yet irregular rhythm, that continues untill I open the door. This one goes beyond pet peeve, straight into full on rage. I have no idea why this bothers me as it does, but I flip my shit every time someone does this.
  • People who walk in the middle of the sidewalk, shop aisle, ect. With their arms puffed out beside them, making themselves as wide as possible. Walking too slowly and zig zagging. Ensuring no one can get around them without a ridiculous amount of effort.
  • Every stranger that asks to bum a cigarette. Especially when I have headphones in my ears, while reading something. At $16 a pack, I don't have any "extra" cigs. Get a job. I did, that's how I get mine.
  • Interstitial adverts that block the entire webpage.

Unconscious people who think they have some kind of power because they talk loud.
Another poster said this one and it drives me to insanity.... knocking on my door until I get there.... my eyes are bulging by the time I answer the door.
When some one slurps coffee or anything liquid.gaaaaaaaaaaah
People that want to tell you something, but you have to drag it out of them.. I don't bother anymore.... life is short.

OMG, how have I never seen this thread before?!

Off the top of my head:

- Noisy eaters - includes noises made with their mouth, noises made with crockery/cutlery e.g. incessantly rattling a spoon around a cereal bowl and noises made with food containers e.g. rustling a crisp packet.
- Whispering - I can't bear it - it sets my whole being totally on edge. Just speak in a quiet, low voice, you don't have to make horrible whispery sounds.
- Whistling - people who are constantly whistling chirpy tunes as they go about their day to day business. Your whistling is invasive!
- People who eat on public transport.
- People who do their make-up or personal grooming (e.g. filing their nails) on public transport
- People who dress their cats/dogs etc in clothes
- People who interrupt
- People who don't listen, regardless of whether they interrupt or not
- Multi-taskers who insist they are listening/paying attention when at the same time they are also checking their phone, grinning at something on Facebook, typing an email etc
- People who have their phone out at the dinner table - at home or in a restaurant

Phew! That's for starters. Thanks @ladee for starting this thread and inviting us to vent!
I'm sure I'll be back with more...! ;-)

Oooh this is my kind of thread :D

Let's see:
1. People standing still on the wrong side of the escalator, blocking everyone who's in a hurry from passing them.
2. Slow walkers
3. Most drunk people
4. People who just have to finish explaining something when I've already told them I understand
(Ok, maybe I'm a little bit impatient sometimes )
5. Football (soccer) supporters on public transport
6. Complaining (does this make me a hypocrite? :p)
7. Being cat-called
8. Loud people
9. When all traffic lights are red and no one can go anywhere
10. Women who act dumber than they are
11. Cigarette smoke

I have less pet peeves (shrug, whatever, everybody do their own thing) than triggers to various things, come to realize.

One I'm noticing lately - certain tattoos and hairstyles worn a certain way and not meaning the same thing.
All around a lot of visual things that mean I can't f*cking read a person when I get off it enough and read situations /only/ by visual clues and shit like that.
