What statement you drinking to/at/about the next round?

Too soon to tell... a few possibilities but considering my own special proclivities (SUDS/alcohol)... and since I haven't had a hangover in many years... may elect to watch the next live stream "national event" without the booze. Will definitely do a live stream event though cuz it was highly entertaining, at times informative, and no commercials. I think it was fun but not likely something (the drinking game) I'll be repeating. We all know booze for someone with a propensity for alcohol isn't a good habit/hobby to establish, eh?

I dug up an obscure tune for fun that my mister''d never heard of and have been singing it, and singing it off key and hamming it up because it's about Rhino skin and elephant balls. (Tom Petty) He think's I'm two clicks off top dead center today but it made him laugh and he danced around mugging it up for me.

Here ya go... whenever I sing "elephant balls" he cracks up - RIP Tom... we miss you FL boy:

Well, I flew out of the meadow and out of my county for the first time in 3 years. I got on the interstate again, ready for a new adventure. Just a girl and her itty bitty stuffed kitty exploring the big city. lol I really do need to get out more. ha ha ;)

Anyway, I made it down 2 more exits beyond where I went last time without freaking out! That's pretty good for me and I didn't even burst into flame as I crossed the county line. lol I think I'm just 3 back from the city now - I hear that is a really hot mess of construction. It was amazing to see how much things have changed since 2016. New stores, new housing, new restaurants. Just amazing. I spent my day backtracking up a secondary road and checking it all out like a wide-eyed little kid on Christmas morning. Such a big present! It was fun looking at what I knew and seeing what was new. I window-shopped my way through all of the newly constructed stores looking at all for the pretty things, and checked out the new neighborhoods and housing. I found a new store to the area as well. I'm going to check it out next week when I go back down to the library bookstore for its half off sale. From the website, it looks like an antique market meets new school local furniture/decorative store. Pretty cool.

I even stopped into Whole Foods and picked up sesame seeds to make tahini for the hummus I'm going to make. That should be an adventure; I haven't made either before. :) Manga! I've been thinking about, planning, and looking up recipes for making some basic things that I've never done before. I'm set to make 2 salad dressings as well - Buttermilk Ranch and Buttermilk Blue Cheese. Yummo. :)

It was all kinds of fun to be out of the apartment and out into the world. Nice to see possibilities by stepping out of my very small world. Good to stimulate my imagination. Nice to feel hope about something and not trapped.

It was a beautiful day today. Sunny and mid 80's. I worked till 3:30 (that wasn't the fun part. ?) so J and I went to a little music festival down by the river this evening. We packed a cooler and grabbed a carry out and headed for the river. We parked and loaded up our goodies and walked a block to the festival. We got situated and a huge black cloud formed and started dropping buckets of water on everyone. It was pandemonium!!!

J and I are still laughing about it. ???

I checked off a bucket list item today! My wife and I had a great time at a concert performed by John Prine, outdoors at our local zoo. I have been hoping he would come around and was so disappointed when his show scheduled for early August was canceled because he was in bad health, but he rescheduled for tonight and we hung in there even though an outdoor show is risky in this part of the world at this time of year.
He has a very clever writing style that isn't at all painfully clever if you know what I mean. He tells stories, doesn't show off, just stand and deliver, my kind of musician. Very insightful true feelings from his heart and about our shared human condition. He played stuff off of his first album, his last album and everything in between. A true professional.
It was a good night, I will remember it when I need a little boost.

Yesterday watched the first episode of this year's Strictly Come Dancing. They call it Dancing with the Stars in the US.

Love this show, love dancing. And this years first episode was absolutely the best I've seen. So enjoyed it. Had a glass of prosecco too.

Also yesterday began having a go at cross stitch. Never done it before, I had bought the necessary bits n pieces, and a book - Feminist Cross Stitch. I've chosen a beginners peice, cut the fabric to fit the frame, chosen my colours and begun stitching. Is fun. Kind of calming too.

My eyesight isn't what it was so my 1.5 magnifying glasses help but aren't quite enough. I shall get some stronger ones.

The book has small patterns to follow with pretty flowers or borders surrounding affirmations like "Angry Liberal Feminist Killjoy"

Love it.

@berlinda You picked probably his best known song right now, I hope you liked it enough to dig deeper. A long list of short but wonderful songs about life and heartbreak and joy.
PTSD sufferers may like "Dear Abbey" . He didn't write my favorite recording he has done recently, it was a tribute to another great songwriter and his friend Shel Silverstein. "This guitar is for sale". He didn't play it last night but the other 30-40 songs he did play made my disappointment go away completely.
Glad you enjoyed it.
