What Do You Love About Autumn?

Apples, plums, pears...and the cakes including them. :hungry:

The bright colours.

The sound of the leaves around your feet when you walk through the woods. *rustle rustle rustle* :roflmao:

Hot chocolate season begins.

The mist in the morning.

That I'll be able to wear my new favourite sweat shirt (it was too warm until now...). :D

My wuss of a whippet comes for extra cuddles in cooler temperatures. It's all about stealing my body heat rather than any great show of affection on her part but you got to take it where you find it!....slightly less endearing at 2am when she decides your pillow should be a shared space, but....

Hot Chocolate is a once again a "suitable" bedtime drink
The smell in the morning, crisp and fresh
Conkers!
I just love the colours of the trees
Making toffee apples (and more importantly, eating them!)
Best time of year for mountain biking, not too cold, but loads of mud :D
Being able to snuggle up in hoodies and wooly jumpers
The light at dusk (right about now as I'm writing this today), I think it's called the "golden hour" in photography.
Bye bye flies and spiders!
All the new seasonal dramas begin (whether they're any good is a lottery, but at least it's something new to watch)

Geese honking and flying north in v shapes. The air smells of leaves that are turning and their colors dazzle! The air is crisp, it is fresh, it is not humid, but pleasant and cool.... the kids are back in school, so there is some measure of peace and quiet around and about. It is time for decorations of all kinds and sorts, especially Thanksgiving ones. People seem more comfortable.

Okay, you got me curious - why do you only watch this in the Autumn?

The movie had so many elements that spoke loudly to me. But one of the major themes I picked up that was so soft and gentle and yet as important and profound as the main plot line; the changing of the seasons from summer to autumn.

It seemed the movie rested in a hammock of the images of the heat, excitement, boredom of summer and the promise and electricity of the coming fall.

So many elements of human rights came home to me seeing that film and the transformation from summer to fall burned into my soul in a way nothing really had up until then.

The list is long, but I'll trim it down: the changing leaves, the smell in the air, hot soup and warm bread, fires, any sweet breads/muffins made with autumnal spices, hot/spiced cider, anything Halloween, etc.... I miss it so greatly. I haven't been in that region of the country for too long and haven't been able to make even a short trip up to even NC to the Biltmore to check it all out. I'd really like to go to New England. Ah...... So, I put out my little fake leaves and pumpkins from Michaels and try to make the best of it while it's 95 degrees outside. Phew! VB
