My head feels like a truck ran through it (the 4x4 kind with the knobby, grippy tires); not exactly aching... just swollen from the inside out. I feel exhausted and like I spent a day violently vomiting.

That's exactly the word I always use for it. Like my mind and soul are trying to lift from my body.

My head feels like it is going to explode then total dissociation after all the body stuff and feeling boiling hot .

My head seems of survive a flash back, it's my brain that can't cope, it's gets confused, and it take some time to figure out what's going on?

When I wake up screaming from a night mare, it's totally confused, as the night mare was so realistic, that my brain takes a while to realise that I'm not there, I'm in my bed safe and secure.
