What Has Been Your Weirdest Trigger?

-Anything that smells minty, like tea tree oil, icy hot, vicks vapo rub, minty tooth paste
-Snow
-Getting my hair cut. I don't know if this is a trigger necessarily.... but getting my hair cut means someone is WAY too close to me and I get so on edge I can barely breathe. I think its the person in my "bubble" and also because my abuser was the only one who ever cut my hair for the longest time.
-The bathroom. kind of unavoidable. but the bathroom he called his "office" where he would corner and scream at me all the time.
-anybody sitting behind me, walking up behind me, touching me
-yelling/screaming, or even just someone starting to talk loudly when I'm not expecting it.
-and one more... getting the feeling like i am being judged by anyone, even if its just over the littlest thing.

A blonde joke told by my high school teacher is my weirdest trigger. It's the one where the blonde is failing at riding a penny horse machine at Wal-Mart, and it sounded almost exactly like when I was dragged on my horse when I was little (I got a concussion and still can't remember almost any of my childhood before that). The teacher was telling the joke for me because I have horses and he was a jokester, but I started having flashbacks and ran out of the room sobbing...needless to say he was very confused and felt terrible when I explained what had happened.

The sound of our paper shredder at work. God, it can make me panic and run out of the room.

The sound of metal tools being thrown onto bitumen or concrete.

The smell of diesel - can make me hyperventelate at the thought.

Anyone trying to take my pulse. I used to be a regular blood donor, and couldn't care less about the needles and blood, but couldn't handle having my pulse taken. Nurses found it very confusing.

Feeling intensely thirsty.

Animal blood. Human is fine, but not animal.

A certain phrase - sorry, I was about to challenge myself to write it down and be ok with that, but can't.

Maddog

Stupid people who are so stupid they dont even know they're stupid :( Like trying to reason with the back of a kitchen chair and expecting it to climb up on the table and do a somersault. Not gonna happen. And for some reason really stupid people who think they are smart....spell danger to me. I have a tendency to go quiet and freeze and I am very alert to what kind of attack is coming next. Its very effective. If you dont argue with them they continue to think they're smart. But I'm being told I have to confront them.

Anyone got a bullet proof vest?

Hearing certain songs(I can't even type the names of them, it freaks me out that much).
Taking baths(I HAVE to shower)
Certain Halloween decorations
Certain people
People singing along to the radio
Certain movies and TV shows
Certain actors
Winter( christmas time is the worst for me)
Loud noises
Certain cars
Darkness

Weirdest one is mirrors. I have no idea really where this one comes from though. That'd be why it's the weirdest one I guess.

I get this, totally!

That, in me, is a part of the 'depersonalization'...not a trigger to trauma pe se, but since I am always startled by how different I appear than how I feel inside.

Listerine. Stale urine. A woman's (no offense, please) high pitched hi volume yell into a speaker phone or loudspeaker (you know what I mean "Spill in aisle 6" can completely ruin my day). These have all set me off in public or at work.

Car matts (the floor ones) is the "most unexpected".
Being in a locked car completely caught me off guard too.
