Today, I had insomnia so I:
did two yoga sequences
swept and mopped the bedroom floor
plucked my eyebrows into a new shape
shaved
reorganized my possessions
cleaned the bedroom

Took offspring to clinic. Walked downtown and back. Pet kitties. Fed kitties.

today i was involved in painting a mural on a blank wall in a secure garden (walled, fenced with astroturf and a dull paved area) of a mental health intensive care ward. A friend won a competition 3 years ago to do the mural but has only just got independent funding for project so today we where putting the pre-finishing touches onto the wall of his abstract art design ready to be offically revealed on tuesday. so far the patients reaction to the paiting have been positive and i've discovered the hidden painter in me. It's nice to walk into and out of the place with freedom as i spent some time on one of the other wards a couple of years ago for a short stay. it's been a worth while project to be involved in and hopefully we will finish the mural in time for tues.

I had the most amazing, never before, opportunity to help an elderly woman today and I loved it; It felt great. What a gentle woman!

I was outside snapping of the branches of citronella leaves from the enourmous potted plant, that I'm likely going to be unable to bring in the house and givien the cold and all, the poor thing is an unhappy plant.

Anyhow, I'd glanced and had seen this woman walking along and next thing I know she'd reached the bottom of our driveway. She called up: "Hello." "I'm Lost."

A very gentle, beautiful woman and she didn't know where she was, where she came from, how she got there and where she lived.

Long story short: After telling her I'd help her find home, I invited her to sit on my porch in a rocker, offered her my husband and kids company and let her know I'd call a police officer whom would help.

We had held hands and while spotting her I had helped her slowly move up our steep driveway and helped her up onto the porch into a rocker; I called the police station.

Apparently, it's standard procedure that officer/cruiser arrive with ambulance in such situations. And, so they did. And, thank goodness bc she got great service and help from the officer and EMT's and it was clear considering many (unmentioned) points that she needed medical services.

There was so much to the whole story that was a gift and there she had initially stated: "I hate to be a nuisance and all, it's just I don't know where I am or how I got here."

No nuisance at all, quite the opposite. I loved helping her. I loved witnessing others arrive to only want to help her. I loved being witness to the sincerity and heart of the officer who thanked me again and again. And, it was great to experience and see the interaction between my children, husb. and I with her.

It's more like she did something mighty fine and especially good today; She asked for help from a complete stranger and accepted help, when she most needed it, and not only did she receive the help that she needed, I'm of the belief, she unwittingly fed the spirits of numerous people I'm sure, whom are glad to be of any help when they can.

One things for certain. I'll never forget her, and my only regret is that I did not get to know her other then to meet her.

I trust she is in good hands, and the officer did through locating her ID discover her home address. First she has and will receive any medical treatment that she required, as she was very eldery.

The wierdest mystery of it all is that the direction she had originally came from is surrounded by water and oddly isolated and seriously distanced from her home and away from any populated area whatsoever. And, there was more from this story that made it too feel so weird, and so it's a mystery and a mystery it will remain for me.

:thumbs-up I ACTUALLY got up at 7:30 AM and got to my first Charcoal and Pastels Drawing Class!! :clap:IT STARTED AT 10 AM and I'm not an early riser! We get to bring home our stuff and practice the things we did in class. The instructor made a comment that he couldn't believe that we all did so well!! That was a relief to me!! Though I knew I was drawing well, I really "fed" on that comment! Yeah for ME! .....PLANT TREES-BREATHE MORE OXYGEN

I let my sons Jack Russell sleep on the bed last night. I never do that! Dog! On my BED! The only reason I have her is because he abandoned her... like he did me. I need to stop thinking of her as 'my sons dog'. I've had her most of her life. I have a Jack Russell???? no... wait... I have a wolf dog. AND a Jack Russell... hmm...well ok.
I have 18 personal animals. good grief! I have lots of love in my heart.... :)

Going on Hope..........what a beautiful experience you had.

I laughed and hugged my cat and he, of course, returned the affection.

Day before yesterday i got a message from my brother that his daughter had swollen lymoh nodes and was being tested for all the nasties etc. I phoned him up and we had a long chat about feeling rubbish and dealing with long term stress. I just said i know how to do it wrong. Talking to him, he was me (when i was told i was to being investigated for bowel cancer a couple years back that has sparked my current bout etc ). Anyway, I hope i helped.

Anyway, today i got another message that the blood tests were clear, so she hasn't got anything really nasty.

RESULT!

Well, this was good for me and I try to count that too. I got a whole new workout routine made up for me by one of the girls at the gym. I'm hoping that will get my interest in working out sparked up a bit.

In the past, I've always overextended myself to volunteer orgs or for underpaid jobs. It's expected, I guess, when you believe you aren't worthy. All your itme for very little compensation.

Recently, I started this tiny side job - from home, for peanuts. Well, they started to add things to it that weren't in the contract, like editing their writing. Working the hours out, it came to less than 2 bucks an hour for my services. They started to email about the slightest little thing, and expected quick replies. I started returning email during biz hours only. The final straw was when they asked to conference with me via chat--sorry, I said, don't have it.

That was the end of it! I stood my ground and lsot a peanut telecom job! Do I feel bad? No! I stood up for myself. Normally, I would have bent over backwards for the recognition--not this time. I'm not burning with shame for screwing up a job either!
