I went to see Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Sheffield (my home town) last night. I grank lots of mucky beer and danced like a maniac all night. It was bloody marvellous. Best band in the world. Ever.
Crap crowd though. Dead. Apart from me at the back dancing like a loon. I was great!
Of course the other best band in the whole world ever are the New Model Army. Never a dull moment at an NMA gig.
Went to see the Butthole Surfers earlier this year and they were stunningly good.
Most musical lyrics trigger me and make me re-live feelings and experiences i don't want to remember especially classic rock, French songs and lately lullabies. I can only listen to "some" instrumental music, Christian songs and Christmas carols. I never attend any outings where dance, music, booze and games people play are on the menu. :(
Any kind of rock. Classic rock, Alternative rock, Grunge, Goth... Whatever moves me.
I used to be triggered by any kind of music Mw, but I have recently managed to work through it. Every morning I start my day by listening to my IPod. It really helps to set my mood.
My muscial tastes are pretty varied. I love Flamenco- that's my 'cheer up' music.
Otherwise:
Matthew Good (Hands down my favorite artist)
Tori Amos
Sarah McLachlan
Tom Waits ( Just like his voice, and he's a good story teller)
NighWish
Anna Nalick
Bessie Smith
Beyond that, just a variety of individual songs, th lsiting of which would probably run 10+ pages...
