What Made You Angry Today?

I've been exploding again, lately, so back to venting the little shit. Dammit.

Not so little, first, friend of mine's situation -not mine to share- bout had me on a plane this morning to go regulate old school style. No bueno. Okay. Well. Bueno for me. Or not. I'd have enjoyed the f*ck outta it. Ahem. One of those. Bad juju. Need/Want to shred a few people. Will be pissed as hell, and cold as fawk over it for some while to come.

Little. My brother & sister-in-law are badass. It's not them. LOL. Actually they think my parents are weird, too. Because my parents let them drive their (very expensive) cars, but won't even let me in an emergency. ((WTF Sis? You're a way better driver than I am.)) Part of it is the chick-thing. I used to have to steal/borrow racing leathers & a helmet -my fam used to race motorcycles- so no one knew who I was if I wanted on the track, too. But the rest of it is they think I'm an idiot. Can't really blame them, there, I tend to agree. However;
- I'm not allowed to borrow either car, even though I've actually taken (and used) offensive driving professionally... And do not use it -except to nimble my way outta accidents- street driving.... Meanwhile my mom, sister, & sister-in-law all drive them, so it's not all the chick thing.
- I AM allowed to use the 30yo van that breaks down all the time... And them am blamed if it breaks down. No matter how many times the mechanic tells them it not only isn't my fault, but whatever I did to nurse it along to the mechanics was the exactly right thing to do.
- I drove a totaled car for 4 years after my divorce, nursing it along also, and also blamed for every problem IT had (Hello. It's. Totaled. That I get it to run at all is a freaking miracle. // You don't take care of your things. Look at the condition of this thing. // I wasn't the one who totaled it!!!) :banghead:

I've had nice cars. I've had junk on wheels held together with bailing wire and determination that belongs in a scap heap. I've driven hundreds of thousands of miles, in all kinds of conditions (from ice storms, to monsoons, to being shot at). Does any of that matter? Nope. I'm walking 3 miles to catch a bus, and my brother & SIL are thrown the keys.

Aieeeeeeee. They drive me freaking insane. (Not abusive. They're good people. Just. People. Who. Drive. Me. Crazy.)

ETA... They just shouted at me that I need to find someone to drive me & theKiddo up the mountains to go sledding. ???? (This is what I get for mentioning my plans.) I've driven that route, with him, 4-5 times a WEEK for 5 years, and twice a week for 2 years, every winter! ((It's the same place I take him snowboarding, Mom! // You should ask your sister to drive you. She might be willing, and she drives that road all the time.)) They think my sister should drive because she drives that route 4 times a YEAR -back and forth from school. :wtf: :banghead: :inpain: Over 100 times a year v 4 times a year. Yeah.

WTFO.

I just f*cking love being viewed as incompetent.

Even better in an area I actually excel at. It's outstanding.

@FridayJones I can relate on a few of those points personally. I want to actually thank you for sharing that post for it settled a few items of my past as well as present contention.

Have they told you yet that it is your choice to walk the 3 miles and that you could choose to move closer to the bus routes? That one is currently my favorite on a tired day of trekking and I have less than 2 miles to 'reach' most bus stops.

Not so little, first

Kudos for self restraint sistah.
& You are on reach. You're not doing nuthing. You're there for her. On call support can be f*cking invaluable.

Driving: What about making yourself needed? Arranging situations they just don't have another driver & waiting for them to be indisposed? Here, lemme be helpful good girl and do the thing for you. :D ? If they're bloody ignoring whole your experience, play into the stereotype they hold in their effin heads, kind of thing?

Don't let it get under your skin & change your view of yourself, in all of the meantime, while you look at readjusting their view.

Haha, yes.

Go sideways, everywhere you can get away with it.

If they ask why, tell them "But, but, my windshield is dirty. I don't know how to turn on the washy wipey whatchacallit. So I go sideways, so i can see. You know, because it's safer when I can see, can't you see?"

Let that sink in a little, then follow up with. "Hey! You are a passenger, since your just sitting there not doing anything. There's a bucket and rag in the backseat. Climb out onto the hood and start wiping. Damned layabout, making this harder than it needs to be."

No clue if it will help, but if you pull it off convincingly, no one will ever criticise your driving again. If for no other reason than the fear of being tied to the roof with a towel and a bottle of windex.

@Anrish Sad that she feels so threatened by you, that in order to feel good, she must put you down.

Fantasy for fun... Console her next time (with a inner grin) and offer her that she is "right". Perhaps do it in person, so that you may see the aftershock. And when she brings it up again in public (as self centered sometimes do), you can agree with her again, gently offering that she is the Official Study Queen because some things come easier to you...like modesty.:p Then politely sashay away, with grace and inner laughter.:clown:

Hope I helped a smile:hug:

@Recovery4Me : :D:D:D You worked magic - I cannot stop to grin after reading your post! :D:D:D

Fun fact is that even my mother and my grandmother say : "Your sister can study - but that's it" ...:roflmao::hilarious: Just remembered that. It's just so annoying. I had to proofread her master thesis and I asked her what I was reading there. I understood English, but not the whole topic (chemistry). She told me that it would take too long to explain...I was also good in chemistry at school and what kind of a professional are you, if you cannot even explain your own work in easy words?! :cautious: ...that's a pathetic display.

Thank you for opening the other perspective for me, my friend!
