Sadly, the cookies burned because the ovens here are very different from what I'm used to. Luckily I still have dough so I'll try again after work.

Right now I don't have a specific thing that makes me happy, I just feel content to be back home in my safe place. I am rather afraid the events of Winter Break at my parent's house is going to hit me hard but I'll work through that when/if it comes.

Actually, I do have a happy thought: my boss gave me a two extra hours a week at the desk this coming semester which is great because working the desk helps me keep focused and for a college student 11 hours is enough to work a week. I got to see my boss yesterday too, honestly I see her more as a friend because we all live in the same building. Talking to her is so much fun, she likes to use sign language as well. :)

I had a frank discussion with a friend, S, and I was most relieved and happy to talk to her.

I am happy that I have the girls. We already went to McDonalds for lunch and mocha frappes. We went for a walk to our neighbors house but they were not home. Ezri was going to play her banjo for them. She wants to go back later on. I need to get their phone number. We will order pizza for dinner. I love talking to them. I wish I had more for them to do. Jj is charging up her gane, Ezri is watching tv. Mabe I need to do the christmas stuff now. I am feeling tired from staying up late last night. It is so boring here. Mabe I should take them out and look for sunglasses for Ezri. She wants sunglasses. She is playing with my husbands guitar. She is doing scales. JJ is waiting for her game to charge up.

Mabe I will go out and look for sunglasses. JJs game is charged up. She got it for christmas. I wish we had a game box. Then they could play video games here. I will have to have that done.

Gizmo, have you any card games that you play that you can teach them? My grandma taught us card games when we were little. My children's grandfather taught my boys poker(of all things) when they were little. They also played that UNO game. He would sometimes bring the cards to the restaurants they went to to keep them entertained. My great aunt would do word puzzles with me. Sometimes I would just draw or color at my grandmas. My father in law often played school with the kids, or board games. They always enjoyed their time with their grandpa and I always enjoyed time with my grandma and great aunt. And, some of my best memories, are of my grandpa just listening to me when I needed to talk and not dismissing me.

You don't need electronics to have a good time with your grandchildren. They love you regardless of how you "entertain" them. Have faith in yourself and what you project. I see and hear a wonderful grandma who obviously loves and takes joy in her grand kids. That's what they need, more then anything in the whole world, and you are most certainly providing it!

Listening to and watching my grand-nieces (my brothers grandchildren) sing happy birthday to me via FaceTime.
A warm fire in my wood stove and listening to my dog snore - he is sound asleep and completely exhausted from playing in the snow today. Watching his excitement at his first serious snow (about 6 inches last night). We didn't get much of anything last winter so this is a new experience for him.

Watching a few videos of Neil DeGrasse Tyson. I know that sounds rather 'nerdy' of me, but the man is very funny and his jokes have been making me giggle for over an hour.

My son choosing to watch Star Wars for the umpteenth time. He knows I'm not a big fan of it, though I find myself watching, but I do enjoy spending time with my boy. I would watch almost anything for that time with him.
