@obsidian....I hope you are able to turn off those people that are so critical. In my experience, those who treat me badly may have some basis as having ptsd effects everyone around us as well as ourselves. However, we do not get better listening to such criticisms or anything that makes us a scapegoat. It only escalates anger and feeling worse about ourselves.
It doesnt sound like leaving is an option. So often, choices dont feel like any real solutions or promising/hopeful choice, more like the lesser of two evils. So I just try to take responsiblity for my part in what keeps me stuck, and remind myself that it is a choice. With therapy, I do think things can get better. Anger is a secondary emotion. It comes from something else and when you identify what it is that triggers that anger, with determination and taking the risk of dealing with whats fueling the anger, that can get better too.
