Yes I understand what you are saying I do.. But this kid was different .. And I do not want to think about that now.

So I just want to thank you all for helping and praying ..

I really learned a lot stuff that always will be with me ..
One thing i have learned along the way is that you must never relay on anyitng .. Just relay on your own creativity know your plants( and their medicinal uses) in your country and know your body and its needs. We are all so use to luxuries what will we do when we have noting.??

Here's a little something for the soul in the meantime...one of my favorite pieces..Romance by Weiniawski (probably misspelled that). This really helps me to hear.

I have made contact with my aunt and they say things are the same they will go on till the Mayor of the town with her people leave they say they are currupted .. So I guess its okey I dunno why they burn of bread trucks and cow feed ...its food supply. Its crazy ..
We are save aarow thank you so mush for your consurn.. Well we how far this spread but if it looks like this now I wonder what will happen after winter nobody planted maize there will be no food for the main population. ..

As a South African, this thread worries me for a variety of reasons, and on a variety of levels. @Nikie where do you live? And what does any of this have to do with PTSD?

A while ago we were entertained, or were used for entertainment, by a charmingly fuzzy couple. Well, they were essentially entertaining themselves (although I always believed 'they' were one and the same person, most probably male, most probably pubescent or twenty-ish). They told the most alarming stories that were totally not credible. As in laughingly, hysterically, just over the top. And yet they had a most sympathetic following.

@Nikie, I live in Cape Town (but I was born on a farm in the Ou Transvaal). Yes, this country is in really deep shit. Yes, we're sitting on a powder keg. Yes, the EFF has threatened to make universities ungovernable, and they are delivering on that threat. They have burned down the Science Centre on the UNW campus, they have burned paintings on the UCT campus, yes there are the #RhodesMustFall, #FeesMustFall and many other campaigns raging across SA. But then there is also the #ZumaMustFall campaign, supported by black and white alike. Our stock exchange is still operational, although we've had 3 finance minsters in quick succession. Our currency is falling, but not plummeting (btw, the Rand has been weakening for more than a decade). Yes, there is a genocide of whites, largely ignored by the West, but now gaining recognition at the UN. But what I also see in the mainstream media is the most amazing efforts by black and white youth to counter the SHIT created by the pre-election shenanigans of the political parties, such as the prayer chains on the University of Pretoria and University of the Free State campuses. After massive protests we see black and white youth getting together to clean up the mess. We still have a workforce that clocks in from 9 - 5.

But, we don't know which side will prevail. So yes, having a passport and cash at the ready is essential. Kruger Rands are probably a great idea. Better yet would be Forex. And yes, knowing which countries to go to is essential. Ireland is one country that does not require a South African visa. There aren't many countries we can fly to in an emergency, but there are a few.

You have many options: get ready to leave; get a job and join the massive expat South African community overseas; join the ordinary people who are desperately or quietly trying to save this country.

But stocking up on food and water? To do what with? Wire cutters? To trespass on neighbouring farms? Farms with a disgruntled black labour force? What about the havoc you'll cause with the livestock? Follow baboons to find water? When is the last time you saw a real live baboon?

Why should you be secretive about the province or town where you live? SA has a population of about 53 million people. Does anybody honestly think I'm lurking on this site as a PTSD impostor to track down renegades? Does anybody honestly think any political activist is desperately trying to track you down? What for? Right now a totally anonymous and innocent farmer and his family are being tortured and killed. Do the members who support you so sympathetically even know where South Africa is, and what is actually happening here?

My question remains: What does any of this have to do with PTSD?

And now, in a moment of patriotism and common sense I'm going to risk getting banned: I think you are full of shit and on this site for attention. And I miss the grammar rules.

"Laat hy val waar hy wil."

@Anarchy, thanks for being the voice of reason. I can see the sense in what you are saying, but I'm going to decline. It is not about predicting the future, it is about reality, and responding to it as a rational, reasonable adult, with or without PTSD, or any personality disorder for that matter.. If I wanted to edit, I would have added a whole analysis of what is happening in South Africa at the moment, but nothing else.

Reality is out there, but it's slippery.

I'm not a nihilist, I do believe that we can get close to reality, and the test of how close we are getting, is how well the results of our actions based on our personal understanding of reality, conform to our anticipated outcomes.

We each have a map in our heads that reflects reality more or less closely,

But it is only achieving the expected outcomes in our actions, that indicates if we are on the right or wrong track.

What someone else says is reality, ain't necessarily so.
Just sayin
