My husband knows I have my own carer support, he knows I go to carer group meetings when I can. He knows all I do to care fro my own health. I told him from the beginning, as I could not cope with any of what PTSD throws at us without it.
He has always understood the reasons for all of this, as he tells me time and time again, he knows I would not still be here without it. This is, as we all know and understand too well, not an easy illness to cope with for any of us.
I honestly don't see this as a sign of weakness, (Not that I or anyone is suggesting that), more a sign of strength, that we do, as carers, find our own support/therapy. How else would we be able to let out all the anger, fear, frustrations or any thing else this causes us, without having our own support network.
