Hmm. Ideologically yeah maybe "no one should" but that ain't the world we live in peachy pie... and we're in the states... so I think I'd spend some time self reflecting on that one... cuz this "world we live in?, well that ain't the reality is it? edited to add, also highly perceptual.

Ok, so you get snail-mail letters every time you move?

...And you have written them a cease-and desist letter, certified mail, retaining a copy and the delivery slip?

Just checking, that's considered standard operating procedure, AFAIK.

Eventually, you'll just have the income ( I hope ) to have a very secure residence

That seems interesting.

I'm also considering going to buy a handgun to keep at home just in case but I really don't want to since I've never owned one and the idea causes me a lot of anxiety.

If you are considering buying a weapon for self-protection, then make sure that you contact the police if there is any interaction between you and your abusers, especially if they are threatening you in anyway. The police may not be able to do anything, or may choose to do nothing, but you will have the incident on record; if will help you build your case of self-defense.

Secondly if you are considering getting a firearm for self- defense. If you are planning on carrying it on your person, then get a handgun, get the appropriate amount of training, and find out what your state requires for a concealed carry permit.
If you are getting it just for home defense, then a 12 ga. pump shotgun is a better choice for a home defense weapon.

I would like to start a discussion of what's the right way to deal with it when going to the police, d...

I know what you feel like. I was stalked and harassed and initially was very happy when I first reported the incidents to security personell.

But that changed very quickly, because things started to get a lot more complicated. It took me years to find out what really happened behind the scenes. Corrupt security people who had my evidence on camera and then decided to simply destroy it were only the beginning. I figured out years later that all of the people who worked in that security office had something to hide, and not little things. They employed married men who in turn hired their own little prostitutes into the security department, the list goes on and on.

That in itself I could handle, after all it was their life they messed up. But then I realized that they harassed me too, using employees that worked at my workplace were all that happened. They libeled, harassed, lied, covered up evidence, the works.
What really hit the bottom out of the barrel was the fact that they became involved in my private life without ever asking permission to do so. I was faced with corrupt security personell that also knew the predator that followed me around, even befriended the predator. He in turn was very happy to use them for his own needs.

What I had long suspected became fact, that some of them showed interests in me and therefore had watched my predator long before I even had to report him, even after the fact now I know that there were people who were jealous of the person that stalked me, who in turn copied his criminal actions, who in turn attempted to get closer to me via using the situations that I was forced into.

I do not trust security employees anymore, never will, police only gave me the runaround after attempting to report repeated threats against my life.

I am currently reading the book from Anita Hill, in it she stated that every sexual assault victim is on their own. And she is totally right about that.

I really liked what @RussH said to you. This also makes so much so much sense. You never know and the stress that you are under needs support and validation. I wish you the best on this one. Stay safe.

I look at my recent case, and that is why I do not go to the cops. Small town cops and lawyers, they have Hollywood in their sights. They want their one big case to fulfill their dream. They see me, a cripple, and they see how people are scared of people like me. They harass me until something happens, and BAM!, there ya go. I get charged. It has been happening for years now. I think I can look back decades, and this has been happening. Case in point, the women my mom grew up with. They, for whatever reason, don't like my mom from back in their days of youth, and so they get back at her through me, but not to get back at her to get her reaction, but because they are bullies and it makes them feel good. I have done nothing to them. Long story, too much detail is needed to understand why I say this, detail I don't want made public, but it's real and I get nothing out of lying about it. But I have to ask WHY? WHY do they do this? Are they that upset at my mom? Are they that inferior to my mom? Must be something.

ETA: And what do the cops do? Nothing.
When I am in a fix, and a cop is the answer, who do I call? The cops. What do they do? Nothing.
When I am in a fix and I take the law into my own hands because I know I cannot trust cops, what happens? I get in trouble for not calling the cops.
Call the cops, and they do nothing. Don't call the cops and I get in trouble for not calling them.
Can't win for losing.
