When Therapy Seems To Make Things Worse

Sometimes when I get those running thoughts I listen to music and sing along...its hard to have a flying conversation in your head when you are jamming out to Bruno Mars or the Black-Eyed Peas! haha!

Its SO hard and frusterating when you have to concentrate on NOT thinking, isn't it?? Thinking comes naturally to everyone but racing thoughts are not good when you want to relax, I know this.

Give the music thing a try, it might help! Or sometimes I like to do exercises and count outloud how many sit-ups, reps, or whatever I do. If I lose count, I make myself start over...it doesn't take me long to push those racing thoughts out of my mind if I know I will have to start again at "1"!

I am very sorry for your accident in Iraq, but it sounds like the therapy is working, so keep it up and have faith that things will only get better! Glad you are here, friend!
