I have PTSD, dissociative subtype?

But, I also have scoliosis to the extent that even bending from the waist with no weight added will put me in a week of pain that runs through my legs with nerve pain.

I have had to be in a wheel chair the pain in my legs from my spinal birth defect was so horrible. I couldn't stand at all. I sat and crawled like a toddler for three months!

No Dr. has suggested that there is any drug or surgery. Just steroids, which are risk for Diabetes and weight gain, which would further compound the problem.

I suspect that my spinal problem could wreck havoc with my career faster than my PTSD.

Finally, I have severe PMDD (PMS) and it's turned into worse after a surgery to perimenopause (early).

Am I seeing this right that I should purchase long-term disability insurance? LOL

I'm so sorry to hear about all that you have on deck. I think LTD insurance might be a good route to go to ensure your income is protected. Please be sure to check on the policy's duration period and for any pre-existing clauses, waiting periods, exclusions, etc... As always, read the fine print. If you are going through your employer, it might be a good idea to have a reputable agent look over the policy and if you are going out on your own, find the same agent to help you pick out the right policy for you. Hoping the best for you. VB

Well, I know my mom had a lot of female issues too. I strongly believe she had estrogen dominance, a condition that can wreak havoc with your health. She contracted ovarian cancer and passed away from that.

So since this seemed to be a family trait I took severe actions to transport myself into menopause within a two month span, without any doctors, simply adjusting my supplements and stop using products that introduce even more estrogen into my body and that can be anything, from food to health and beauty products.

Well, it worked, I am actively in menopause but I had to do that to very fast and efficiently get rid of estrogen. Estrogen to me spells death right now, after all of the research that I have done my head is spinning with all that I learned.

Nutrition is also a big factor with estrogen dominance, many foods can increase estrogen, mainly sugar so there were a lot of changes in that area too.

Ever since I changed to completely natural treatments I can tell that my health issues have gotten better. I would never go back to a regular MD to get help in these areas because I found a much better way, without paying horrifying sums to doctors and insurance companies.

I understand what you mean about multiple issues. I have PTSD, ASD-1 (formerly Asperger's), PCOS, Fibromyalgia, a herniated disc in my lower back, several sports injuries, Hypothyroid, Adrenal Fatigue, and several other issues that haven't even been diagnosed yet. Thing is, I've never really had much employment, so no health insurance, no useful disability, and no help with any of this. I've had to do lots of research and go the natural path to alleviate, but at this point I honestly can't work. I'm still trying to find something I can do, even part-time, but will be applying for every state and federal program I MIGHT be eligible for. It's not something I wanted to do, i'd rather be independent and not have taxpayers keeping me afloat, but gotta do what you gotta do, right?

I am ignorant about insurance and wouldn't be able to define much less find a reputable person. I'm new to my state, so nobody to ask for referrals. I just need to research it and hope to figure it out.

My back problems are even more likely to make me unable to work as that's been a lifelong source of pain and disability at times when there's a flare up. I don't think surgery would do me any favors and would in fact only compound the problems because there are many problems in the spine. There are the main ones and the "compensatory" curves to balance out these. So it's like a house of cards.

I'm told I am very fortunate. With two hemi-disks on top of each other, I had less than a 7% chance of ever walking. I have lived a normal life without a brace and it straightened a lot by growing, unlike normal scoliosis. I also have an additional vertebra.

Life is a series of miracles for me.

How did I survive two very abusive parents, one who tried to kill me, and who took me to a third world country to, I speculate, die?

How did I do so well in school living in chronic abuse?

How did I grow up healthy, despite PTSD and severe back problems?

How did I not use drugs or alcohol even when I hung out with troubled teens?

How did I manage college and parenting?

How did I get two degrees and a good job?

None of it makes sense. Dissociation explains a lot, even the way I dissociate the pain I live with.

I am always thinking if all fails I will take off with my car, a moving home, go camping hihi. Seriously, that is what most people would call traveling.

I applaud your courage and tenacity with all that you've endured and that you are still trying to see to your needs!! Regarding insurance agents, sometimes, when you Goggle agents they are rated. Just a thought as I don't know where you live. You can also take out policies straight through the big carriers if you Google Long Term Insurance. Good luck to you as those policies are very complicated. VB
