Psychologist diagnosed me after 2 sessions. I've suspected it for years but I didn't seek help until a week ago

My T suspected PTSD so had a psychiatrist consult with her and ran the tests to diagnose me. I only see the T though currently because I am not on any meds.

Psychiatrist. I'm now seeing a therapist who is highly trained and specialises in PTSD and sexual violence, she's a Doctor herself but is not the one who diagnosed me.

I was diagnosed by my family physician, who then told me that I could go seek counselling myself, or she'd be making a referral to a psychiatrist on my behalf, like it or not.

I was officially diagnosed by a psychiatrist earlier this year. It took a long time to get an appointment and I was in crisis mode for a long time. I spoke to therapists and medical doctors before and while no one could confirm it, they did encourage me to keep on researching PTSD and be on this site. The psychiatrist diagnosed me the first visit I saw her.

I have been diagnosed and have had it confirmed over the years by therapists and psychiatrists. Recently, I was in a program where they assessed me according to the DSM-5 with its changes and I still have the diagnosis. I don't know the laws for the US, I guess I assumed that therapists could diagnose because the health insurance companies rely on their diagnosis. But a diagnosis is more than for insurance/benefits so perhaps a psychiatrist would be beneficial.

I'm not sure, but all I know is that I assumed it had been diagnosed by what has come up in therapy. Traumas galore. I'm pretty sure that it may first have been noticed by a Clinical Social Worker. I was getting weekly therapy from her and I think at some point I mentioned it as one of my diagnoses and she did not refute me, so I assume it was agreed upon then, if not before.
