First of all I want to say how nice it is to have this forum. It's not as easy as some might think to find support for wives and family members.

My husband was injured in a bomb blast in Pakistan in 2008. He suppressed his emotions and injuries for four years and then everything seemed to come crashing down. He has not worked in about a year and a half, and our income dropped 2,000 less a month compared to what he was making. Our life is a roller coaster of emotions and nothing is what it used to be in our marriage. I have learned to much about PTSD over the past year, but it's still extremely difficult. Not only is my husband suffering tremendously, but our whole family is affected by the many changes and emotions we have to deal with every day. I am doing my best to stay healthy emotionally, physically and spiritually because I don't want to succumb to secondary PTSD. I want to have a good life and enjoy the days I have too. I started a new blog that incorporates art and PTSD support because I want to help other women who might be going through the same thing. I know how isolating it can be. I'm so happy that I can come here to find the help and support I need. I look forward to reading through the different stories because it really helps knowing I am not alone in this!

Welcome Marion. PTSD + TBI would be really difficult... considering the associated complications TBI can bring. Well done for reaching out to others and helping others yourself.

At first I thought, "How can I possibly help other people when I have so many horrible days myself. I don't feel like I have it all together." But then I realized that sometimes the best healing comes through helping others. This is going to be a long and challenging road so why wait? I'm going to do what I can. :)

Welcome to the forum Marion. Sometimes just writing down what's on your mind in the supporters diary here, can help you work through issues you may not even be aware are eating at you. Also, others can offer support and ideas to help you work through them.

Best of luck, and thank you for sticking with your vet, and the support you offered him during his active duty, and now through his service related disabilities.
