Dear Grainne,

I'm sad to hear of this distress you're experiencing. I understand things are especially difficult when it comes to caring for your children. I wish I could give you some practical advice but since I can't I just wanted to express my sympathies. You make me think of my own mother. Whatever the situation may be, knowing that your mother loves and cares for you no matter what is the most important thing. Not all children are lucky enough to have a mother who cares for them as you obviously do.

Thank you, everyone...for the wonderful support and the great suggestions!! I'm now at the School Board level, trying to get some attention drawn to Colton's situation. It was terribly awkward on Friday, as I had to go into the school to pick Colton up (we have agreed to try to transition him in a bit more slowly and he is currently doing half days, every other day - it's already making him even MORE reluctant to go to school). I had already sent my letter to the board, expressing how disappointed we were to find there to be so few options available to Colton. Now, I'm scared of the backlash, because I have to keep dealing with these people..but, gdmit....my son is NOT going to be excluded.

This is one fight I'm going to win for him. No matter what it takes.

Now...if I could just find the same fire for myself...
