With New Healthcare Act What Will It Mean To See A Therapist?

Now that I finally have insurance I am terrified that if I seek therapy that my rates will go up because of it. I know this could be me just being paranoid but I want to know others opinion on it?

You're in the US? What it means for ME is that my insurance costs way less than therapy, because of my income, and I don't have to worry about them raising it, because of my income. It's great!

Insurance companies always increase their prices, that's what they do. I THINK this new system is set up so they CAN'T raise your premium because you're using the insurance. Your premium is supposed to be based on objective things like age and gender, not things like ongoing medical issues. If you have insurance through an agent, you might ask them, just for the peace of mind of knowing.

Check your policy's rates for therapy. It won't make your premium go up, but you should know the out-of-pocket costs listed for visits under your policy. Then just make sure the therapist accepts your insurance.
