I´m not sure how many of you guys are watching football (yeah, I mean real football/ soccer  )
So... Which team is your favourite? For me, it´s England (because I love England) and Argentina (because I also love Lionel Messi).

And I also add something for those, who remember last World Cup and it´s iconic "music" :hilarious:

:roflmao:. I looked at the teams, and I'm supporting: Australia [because of this forum], Honduras [it has a catchy sound to it] and Cote D'Ivoire [it also sounds pretty good to say]. I probably won't watch any games, unless one of my teams go far :D;).

Are vuvuzelas banned this year? :hilarious:.

I'm watching it:) I'm not really knowledgeable about teams or players or anything specific, but my family and I have a fun time watching it.

I guess Brazil? Can I say that? They seem pretty good. :)

Sorry.
Who wins the football.webp

:roflmao: @KP the nut that's brilliant.

My chosen teams: Aus 1 loss, Cotes 1 win, Honds are playing tonight. I haven't watched any of it. Although if there's some Sound of Musical half-time show, I'll tune in for that ;).

@bluebird was it a good game (England/Italy), even if not a win?

@rainy_daze - I am sorry, but I missed that one... it was too late for me to watch, and I had to get up early. But I saw a bit of Costa-rica vs. Uruguay, which was great - and I loved how one of the commentators said something like "Oh, the Urugayiens are not at their best... Seems like that without Luis Suaréz, there is actually no one to really bite into the Costa-rica´s deffense"

I am supporting Germany. Germany plays the US tomorrow, I plan on putting on my German jersey and putting black, red and gold ribbon in my hair (for the German flag). :D It's fun to be a bit silly every now and then. If I had face paint I would probably paint my face. ;)

There is a lot of news coverage here in the US about the upcoming game and just the US team. That makes me pretty happy to hear, I think the US needs another sport. I think soccer/football is great becasue normally the ball is not being aimed at your face and that is something I never understood in baseball...I just hated that a small hard, bone breaking object was coming towards my face really fast.

And all this excitement is addictive...I actually feel like I can brave a in-person game to see the local baseball team or even the football team! I actually looked into ticket costs.

I enjoyed some of the reporting about the vampire. I laughed a lot. Journalists say the funniest things sometimes. :hilarious: There was a photograph of the other football player with his name and written under it was "victim of the bite" :roflmao:. Probably not the best thing to laugh at, but it cheered me up.

My teams are losing :rolleyes::facepalm:.

Did you enjoy the Germany game, @Ayesha ?

I've been watching games when I can...taping a couple here and there. Japan's out (which I was not completely surprised). I watched the Germany/USA and Portugal/Ghana matches in one bar on Thursday. Saw the Japan/Columbia game on Tuesday. I always watch the semi-final and final matches in a sports bar or other establishment (more fun). Boyfriend's rooting for Germany this time.

I am researching future career options at this time so I watch games in between research stints.

My therapist is rooting for Brazil and we spend about half our session discussing the week's games.
He believes that Brazil is keeping their hands close to their hearts...and not expose any tactics too early.

The problem is that now that they *barely* made it to the quarter finals, they cannot afford to do anything like hold their cards too close. After all, it was only a goal post or two that really ruined it for Chile. It was one of the more closely matched games - aside from today's Belgium/USA where the game really picked up in extra time.
