Warning, religious content below.

Oh, the service was excellent, I cried tears of joy at one point. It was about how Jesus takes us THROUGH all our trials, to give us a time to learn rather than He just remove the troubles we have. It made a lot of sense from my experience.

This contribution is to prove that from this horrible pandemic good and hilarious still happens. And two nations with opposing views on just about everything can appreciate & acknowledge each other regardless. Read and listen to the whole article. What started out as a lousy excuse to get out of doing the dishes after tea has steamed ahead into a worldwide viral outbreak of the good type. lol

Enjoy

No roadways blocked here.

I am being forced to go to the office today and half of the day yesterday and 80% or more of people aren't wearing masks, though a few days ago there was an email saying they were giving out 5 masks and an 8 oz bottle of hand santizer to every agent and that remote work at home agents had to organize with their sup to pick that up. They also said that mask wearing isn't required but encouraged. Still, 80% or more are not wearing masks. There are still people working in office only and they moved everyone to one side so that they are closer together.

I wish people here would take this seriously and the majority would wise up and wear a mask, even when not required!

Our state keeps opening up with more things being allowed starting next week. One of the things are pools. Something I've been looking forward to for 2 months. Until I read the regulations/restrictions.

You have to make a reservation at least 24h in advance. No same-day reservations, no walk-ins. You have to call a number to do so. Only one reservation per person (i.e. I couldn't reserve for both myself and my husband and chances are we wouldn't get the same times).
Slots are for 45 min.
Any time not in the water, you have to wear a mask.
Changing rooms (ok, somewhat reasonable), restrooms and showers remain closed. You have to shower outside (I don't even recall that our particular pool does have outdoor showers)
You have to show up dressed in your swimsuit and once your 45 mins are up, leave the property immediately (yep, fully soaking wet).

Holy f*cking banana. Those are outdoor pools. I understand and support the point of precautions but ... we've locally had 0-1 new cases for weeks and 0-3 new cases per day statewide, with long streaks with no cases...

Time to revisit that fear of sharks, I guess...

My swimming pool is taking bookings. Similar to yours @siniang - no showers but bathrooms will be open. Come with sufficient & type of clothing to throw over the top & shower at home after 55 mins. Must check in and check out.

Limited number of people per lap lane. Bookings only & 24 hours notice, no walk-ins.

Why don't you think you can get a booking at the same time as your husband? If you can make your bookings far enough ahead you I cannot see why that won't work.

It all sounds great to me. Going to reactivate my account & head back if I have the green light from my doctor. :)

This is really interesting: Dead Link Removed

I hope it shakes out to be the case. We are watching numbers drop in some areas of the US, despite many factors that would push it otherwise (gatherings of thousands to protest, vacations, travel, opening up...)

If this shakes out to be true that the virus really is losing it's edge, that would be fantastic.

This is interesting.

"The good news is that if Covid-19 is a vascular disease, there are existing drugs that can help protect against endothelial cell damage".

I was just about to share this article, too. While I’m wary of medium.com articles and really have some issues with the repeated mention of “high rates of blood clots” (because...reporting bias! Yes, there were an unexpected number of cases with these, but compared to overall infection rate it’s more like statistical noise, as far as I’m aware), this was still a very interesting article

Happy news about protesters here on the West coast. They are doing a great job of calling out the violent protesters to make sure the world knows they were never part of their group and they showed up today to help clean up the mess that was left behind. A couple asshats tried to start some crap tonight and got shouted down by the larger group and run off.

so while it is still tense and they are still blocking all of downtown it's much calmer than the last couple nights. hopefully a good sign
