I am very passionate about my job and the rules and regulations surrounding them. I also have found recent changes very frustrating as while they have increased the educational requirements for my position I have had a lot of trouble hiring someone who actually knows what they are doing despite the higher academic qualifications required.
Today I was selected out of approximately 1500 Victorian BAS Agents to be interviewed as to my thoughts and opinions on recent legislative changes and the impact on my industry. I am delighted to be able to have some input and the interview will be tomorrow.
To add to my excitement, after talking to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) representative after the invitation, he is actually going to recommend that I be asked to sit on the Tax Practitioners Board's BAS Agent division once a vacancy opens as he was delighted with my input today and believes I would be able to add invaluable insight into the industry "out in the real world".
I am tickled pink as I love my job........ just the acknowledgement has me grinning like a Cheshire Cat. :D The opportunity to have some input is so exciting. Call me nerdy but this is my chance and I am so going to take it. :tup:
