I remember the Wikileaks cables being purged of names (to protect the collaborators). Read a few about meetings I was in. Nobody involved would not know who, what, when, where and why just because the name was blanked out. Most of them were picked off PDQ. Won't surprise me of the same doesn't happen to these guys when they get home and bump up against the new guys.

Hillary, of course, has explained in her new book (Hard Choices) that she was against the war when she voted for it---especially the Surge. That was really good to know. Especially when reports from Favorite Places (Tuz, Bayji, Samarra, Mosul) sounds like Hard Choices being made there everyday. Maybe she could start with a Press Conference in country? Invite the guys from Qutar for a picnic?

I think you can be outside without a cover if you're within like 5 feet of a personal vehicle. I'm not 100% sure, so don't quote me on it. Of course, the specific rules about it may be differ between branches and it could be more of an "unspoken exception" because usually if you're staying within 5 feet of your vehicle, you're probably only leaving your car for a couple seconds (like to stick a letter in a dropbox).

I agree with the rest of your post, though.

You had that happen too eh? I was probably outside the wire for three days when I had returned to the FOB. f*ckin desk jockeys had cleaned out the PX. Well I was hungry so I went to the chow hall. f*ckin butter bar psych BA tells me I can't come in with ACUs that dirty. I tell him to suck a dong. What happens to me? A full bird comes over and escorts me and three other grunts to get food and drink. Talked with us about the importance of NCOS and Commissioned officers relationships and how enlisted personnel are easily influenced yadda yadda. f*ckin morons.
