Xanax

My doctor prescribed .5 mg of Xanax 1 time a day. But it seems like I need more, but I don't want to like overdose myself. I just still jump at every noise and my anxiety seems to not be completely controlled with this dosage. Can I take more than one until I can get to my doctor again?

Please call your doctor if you think you need more than the prescribed amount. If you run short at the end of the month, then some prescription plans won't give you a refill until the bottle says you are due for one. I ran into this problem even though my doctor was the one who upped my prescription, and had to do a fast withdrawal off my meds. It wasn't fun! And, if your doctor sees that you may potentially be abusing the drug by taking too much, he may be reluctant to give you a refill, simply because it is a controlled substance. So just be sure to call your doctor so you don't run into any problems.
