You Know You Have PTSD When...

="Cynthiatoo, post: 133638]
- You carry the ashes of your deceased loved one on your keyring, sprinkle them in the cinema so they can enjoy the movie too
- You are surprised that people think that is weird
- You buy forty bamboo screens and wire them to the fence so you dont have to look at your neighbours houses
- You train your friends not to book you ahead for anything
- They cooperate because they know you are a really nice person even though you are weird
- You call most people in the world "Normals"
- You can only relate to people who have been seriously hurt by life and you think they are the only "Real" people in the world
- You learn to use the word "Unwell" in your vocabulary and cant understand why people assume you had the flu
I totally relate to these from your list, they are spot on for me!

Especially when thinking about the 3 friends I have that I actually feel close too. All three had horrible child hoods of abuse and one was gang raped by the football team during high school. They are my girls and we get eachother though. It is nice to find a bigger community of people here online.

-When you find a new brand of dishsoap in the store and decide to give it a try, bring it home, put it on the counter, and its the same one you've been using for years.
-When you have the instruction booklet taped to the vacuum cleaner cause you can't remember how to change the attachments
-You have a doctor's appointment at 6 pm, start getting ready in the morning, and at 5 pm you find yourself crying on your bed because you can't find a thing to wear, even though your entire wardrobe is on the bed beside you

I identify with so many of these posts!

-They are going to attack you any minute for the last x amount of years, and watch you every day even though your not in Iraq anymore.
-Begin yelling wile you sit and watch reactions but do not know what your saying or what they are saying and snap back the second it is over.
-Can no longer feel any emotions.

-you pack your bags to go to the psych hospital more often than you pack to go on vacation
-going grocery shopping is considered an adventure
-if you average 15 hours of sleep a WEEK, you think you're doing pretty well
-your significant other wears their old high school football gear to climb in bed with you, just in case you have another night terror
-Your therapist is on speed dial, but you also know her number by heart
-Most of your best friends are people from online

Oh, this made me laugh, great post!
