You Know You Have PTSD When...

Everyone who knows you announces themselves repetitively before they come in the room with you as not to startle you...and even though I know it.....still I jump and scream.

"I'm coming down the hall, going to come in the room, don't want to scare you"...........<enters room> SCREAM!

You know you have PTSD when you goto update your status on your profile page and you do it 2x's within minutes of posting the first and you DON'T remember doing it!

And the worst part is you just want to cry because that's how bad it's getting these days!

Oh, I so do this. My office is set up stupidly/inefficiently because I have to be able to see the person approaching because my fiance hollering "I'm standing up, I'm walking towards the hall, here I come, I'm here" scared the crap out of me.

And spent half a day, running around town to do business and the stop at the bank and state office....wondering why they were all closed. I hate to miss a Holiday:D....Then I checked my cell phone (my only watch, calender and etc.)
And discovered it was Sunday. Makes me wonder what I did on all the other days of that week...or, really...anytime..

kath, I got a couple of alerts. I don't know if I should run, hide or celebrate. I would sleep if I could find the bed...and NO I am not going to get one of those "old folks" pill boxes....for each day of the week, even tho I recently took an Ativan, thinking it was a blood pressure pill. Then, I just didn't really care.

....when you asked your psychatrist for a wallet card that says you are certifiably insane so the next time you hear.. what are you F'ing crazy? you can flash your handy-dandy wallet card and say.. why yes I am.. I'm certified!

(please note: psychs do not find this amusing and refuse to give you such a card.. I tried.. LOL)

...when you post a large sign on your music stand, facing out, that says "normal people worry me". The sign has been there for years, I forgot about it. One day I walked into the church in which I was playing and noticed it visable to all. Maybe that's why I'm not playing there anymore....but they liked it...really.

I think mine probably would give me one. I'll ask next time I see him. Although it may read certifiably insane pain in the ass.:p:laugh:
