You Know You've Been Dissociating/being Absent Minded When...

When you are literally walking out the door and can't remember where the keys to the house are that you JUST had in your hand and you spend 10 minutes looking for them and they are in your pocket.
When you have to STOP when you get out of the car and physically LOOK at the keys to make sure they are in your hand so that you don't lock them in the car AGAIN.
When you walk out the front gate with the bike 3 different times forgetting to put your helmet on because each time you walked back in the house, you forgot why you walked in there in the first place.
 
@desiderata310 I almost made a similar type of post but then realized I couldn't sort out the forgetting well enough. Like I know it involves forgetting keys and finding them in my pocket and forgetting other things and then losing my keys and such but the details just aren't there.

@jaccat hahahha. ok, that might beat some of mine. I lost my credit card and found it in the frig. My version of cold cash. And I once spent ages searching for my keys and then found them in my shoe. No clue on either of those.

I also have a huge issue with socks. I will gather the clothes I'm going to put on. I will put on my clothes. I won't have socks. I will spend time looking for socks. Sometimes I give up and go get another pair of socks. The most recent time that happened I found them on the stove top. And this is a very, very regular thing. Maybe I should just stash socks all over the house so no matter what I can find a pair?
