You Know You Have PTSD When...

You know you have PTSD when your core/central discussion topics are about reactivity/triggers/fears/stress, if you have or don't have coping skills or tools, therapy or a shrink, and whether or not you're in a down cycle.. and the normal peeps in your life have no frigging idea what you're even talking about and either just nod, express sympathy/empathy, or their eyes glaze over.

When you think of how to change a sensitivity trauma only multiplied, and if that training is just overcompensating anew, instead of a productive thought.

And you fall over yourself meantime, trying to not think of the trauma itself, or the realization you still remember how often it was, because you counted when it stops f*cking already.
 
No please don't, I'm fairly good at saying that (quite bluntly and at times very rudely, too) where the case, though this has been helpful, and also a kind gift.

Or, how I mean with kind gift: I was wondering aloud, you choosing to answer that question and taking the time out of your day for it, is a courtesy.
 
Not really a courtesy... I got ulterior motives... responding helps me clarify my own issues and question "do I think/believe what I really think/believe" and why? It's sorta like testing a foundation before you build a skyscraper? :O_o: I mean since I know I don't have a degree in engineering, nor in some very base coping skills, eh?
 
Peer support/communities are where you learn how to run with scissors and play well with others... for me it's more like learning how to avoid running with scissors and not aiming scissors at others or myself even when they piss me off. Whoop, but hey I'm a work in progress.
