Walking Is The Best Therapy

Does anyone else love walking as much as I do? Something about the rhythm of the movement, the freedom, the breeze on your face, the birds in the air - utter serenity. I go for multiple walks during the day, since sitting still for long periods of time is extremely difficult, and staying indoors too long is reminiscent of trauma. I find that, for me, walking surpasses any other form of therapy. Of course, my body is always in pain so that can be a bother. But I power through it!

Anyone else take walks to leave the noise of the world?

Yes! I walk all the time and where I am, it's much more convenient than driving. The other night I walked by the seawall in the rain and just felt the water and really smelled the ocean...tried to take it all in... best therapy in a while!

Yep. Walking is really important for me. If I can't get out for any reason, it is quickly evident in my mood that I haven't been able to.

Yes! I live close to the Rocky Mountains and nothing soothes me like getting deep in the woods and high above treeline.
- getting away from people
- surrounded by beauty
- hugged by nature
- a good cardio burn and endorphins/dopamine chugging on all cylinders
- exercise and peace calm my anxiety
- when my best friend and I go we get into deep, personal conversation which is just what I need to restore my faith in people
