Protection Against Stalkers

Since I have had many experiences with stalkers I would like to share with others that are in the same position how to protect yourself if you are being stalked.

Stalkers always want to know where their victim is and they will attempt to employ many methods to do so.

Guess what: if you use any type of credit card, debit card, pre purchased card a stalker can easily identify your location no matter where you are in the world.

I thought that is usually only possible with certain cards but now I know better. Anytime someone makes a purchase with a regular bank credit or debit card a stalker will know your whereabouts by tracing that info. But the pre purchased cards allow stalkers to trace someone as well.

By the way I am very surprised that Stalking is not one of the forums in here. I think a lot of people would benefit from a stalking forum.

I agree a stalking forum or one that deals with toxic personalities is a good idea.
I was stalked by a couple of people in the past and for anyone going through it I cannot stress enough how important it is to have as little or no contact as possible and to get support through the police/ courts/ friends. It's a scary time that can leave you feeling so vulnerable.
I've also found it helpful to learn about toxic people/ narcissists and how they think.

I agree a stalking forum or one that deals with toxic personalities is a good idea.

The forums are not organized by topic so much as by symptom cluster. Navigating toxic personalities would fit into any one of the main PTSD boards, depending on the way it effects the poster. Discussion is the best catch-all for topics like this, that may affect a number of people but can be discussed effectively inside of threads.

I'd like to see this thread stay on the OPs topic and not turn into a discussion about whether or not there should be a new board for stalking. Thanks. :)

Well what I know now is that cash registers are now actally computers, hooked up on the internet, readable data that is available for a stalker or his or her friends. They make contact with Everyone that the victim knows, everyone the victim talks with or interacts with. They will have intimate relationships with people around the victim. With a stalker you are never dealing with one person, but hundreds and thanks to the net info about a victim's whereabouts can travel fast.

Since the person that is stalking me can not get close to me he is trying to figure out how he could have me raped by any stranger that he might know but that I do not know. Since the stalker thinks he can not have me physically he is enlisting friends who force themselves onto me.

The stalker and/or "his friends" would need to hack into that computer (cash register) and get that info.

More likely is a debit card scanner on the card reader on a gas pump or many other outside debit card stuff like a coke machine for instance.

They get the debit card number, experiation date, you name, and the security code on the back (all done through a scanner) and make a fradulent fake debit card.

I doubt stalkers have the knowledge to do this.

Also people go through trash as its no longer private property once its in a trash can/dumpster outside so shred/rip up bank info and sensitive material.

My entire bank was recently fraudently used. My debit card and my banking account number so instead of just canceling the card and getting a new one I had to put a hold on and close my entire checking account and open a new one.

Stalkers are more going to just stalk and not get debit card info from a cash register.

True. It's deemed "abandoned property" making it totally legal to go through it and take whatever they like. (Most often it's cans).
The only thing that can be charged against someone rooting through the trash is littering. But only if they make a mess.

Shred your documents. It's very easy for someone to nick your identity by going through your trash. Receipts, bank statements, packing slips are just a few things that have much of your personal information.

Also, if you have a wifi router. Put a proper password on it. You would be amazed how many people's private wifi networks can be accessed by entering one of the default passwords routers ship with.

Im not suprised. I do that for a living and customers think that just because the default key is 12 digits long that its "safe".

I have been stalked so much l now take it for granted. Stalked when l was a little girl inside a trinket shop by owner, to stalked four years by someone l never met or saw in my late 30's. Even stalk by crazy lady. It's my normal actually.
